I bank with Nationwide in UK. I have an account which provides worldwide travel insurance for 30 days. I am coming to Thailand for 6 weeks on Monday. I am 75 and have to pay an extra £170 for the last 12 days. I do this in a few minutes online with the bank's broker, Aviva. Maybe he just went over his insured time. Expensive mistake.
If every new building in UK had solar panels compulsory fitted and older buildings had solar panels fitted say by 2035 ,there would probably be no need for solar panels on green fields. Btw I don't know about growing fruit and veg amongst the panels but I saw one solar project where sheep grazed around the panels.
Most of these people come from the countries Britain has colonised, looted, tortured, raped etc. Payback time. We will have an obligation to receive Palestinians. If only we had stayed in our own country?
I went into Bangkok Bank yesterday to transfer cash from a starling debit card to my Bangkok Bank card. I have done this before. They no longer allow this. She pointed to a notice saying this. I have texted starling asking if I can transfer over the Web but have received no reply as yet. Any ideas?
Every year in the UK, everyone in the UK, over 60 or with health issues can go to their gp for a flu jab. Last year I went for the second time, I am 74, and the nurse gave me a shingles jab at the same time. Lasts a life time, she said.
I was a podiatrist. I retired 4 years ago when I was 70. I saw fungal toenails every day. Over the years I bought different expensive kit hyped up by salespeople at trade conferences. Nothing worked. I have some fungal toenails and have tried some topical treatments. I even avulsed a toenail of mine under local anaesthetic to see if that would work. It didn't. Nowadays I file my thickened nails and that's that. BTW, tea tree oil cures nothing.
Years ago I rented a car on line for collection at Perpignan airport in France. I got to the rental office and realised I had forgotten my driving licence. They wouldn't allow me to rent. The companies who rent the motorbikes in Thailand have to swallow the cost of the damaged or written off bikes I guess. Probably deposits don't cover it.
