    Not all have been whitened out on purpose. About 10 yrs ago there was issues with the manufacturer and the black faded on the plates.

    wifi within your house has zero do with your provider. buy a better router !

    for what reasons do want cabled lan ? I easily do everything I need over wifi, music and youtube out by the pool 30m away from my router is no issue.
