I strongly suggest getting medical advice from a professional rather than random people on the internet. Few if any answers you get will be from someone qualified to give that advice, and there are many who pretend to be qualified.
When reading articles, look for ones that include citations from sources generally accepted as being reliable such as research universities, national health authorities, and respected medical institutions such as The Mayo Clinic or Johns Hopkins.
Here's one that may help you. Note the plentiful citations.

Thanks for the link - good reading. That's one reason i posted, so i could get guided to some useful information, and some fellow posters feedback. Thanks

If you're in the UK you don't get a choice. You get what they have. Both AZ and Pfizer are ok - as are the other vaccines.
Wrong. Under 40's will be offered alternative vaccines to Astra Zeneca. However, i can still take it if i chose.

My thoughts exactly - obviously a troll post, or a complete idiot
An idiot for asking questions? Most people don't have access to the scientific community, so most local discussions will be with close friends to get some feedback. Naturally i am not going to take what anyone says to heart, but nothing wrong with some feedback.

Fatty explained it well, for details go to Wikipedia.
Everybody will have to be vaccinated again, at the latest next year, probably already in autumn.
Under 40, you should not take AZ. The well publicized - rare - venous sinus thrombosis happens almost only in people under 50.
So your telling 20 year olds will have to take these vaccines for years and years? Won't there be T cell memory etc?

Very stubbornly not going down.
At this moment in time the only defence Thailand has are it's mask, and the unbelievable adherence the vast majority of the population have to masking.

Yeah it is new technology, lol - i keep hearing that. Where do i find out what this technology is?
My biggest concern is that next year they say we all need to take it again.

Why is the specific temporary headache only going down with Astra Zeneca and not the Pfizer?

I'm currently back in the UK. I am under 40 so eligible for Pfizer here.
What are the differences between the two vaccines? Also how long will they last?
-
Hello i have an appointment next week for either Pfizer or Astra Zeneca. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two and what the general consensus is as the 'better vaccine'?
Google is an utter minefield trying to get information.

They have put rules in place, including legislation to make it a criminal offense what you did. You chose to ignore it, and got lucky they didn't check on you.
This could apply to any sort of crime, if you get away with it you've got lucky ... DOES NOT MEAN IT'S RITE. WHAT YOU HAVE DONE IS PUT OTHERS AT RISK. Irresponsible beyond belief. The fact you are boasting about it is utterly depressing idictment of selfishness that plights the UK.

Kind of a contradictory statement? First you say: "The vaccine DOES NOT stop you catching the virus and spreading it". Then you say they should wait until country has a vaccination point?
What good is a high vaccination point if the vaccine DOES NOT stop you catching the the virus and spreading it?
I am confused by your position.
It's not at all contradictory. You clearly don't understand the vaccine.

If cases go down, it is working. If cases go up, it isn’t working. It doesn’t matter where it came from because they likely won’t expand the reopening. However, with all the case drops in highly vaccinated countries, it likely will work.
If cases go up it could be from the current outbreak, perhaps have nothing to even do with Phuket. Imagine if they had opened this 'sandbox scheme' in April. The new outbreak would have been blamed on that.
My point is no one can even know. This is ridiculous beyond belief.
We literally are rolling out vaccines in the coming months and it is at this point they decide to take a risk a few months before that. Crazy

That is the whole point of a Phuket sandbox test. They want to see if there are less cases with vaccinated tourists and 70% vaccinated locals. If it works, they will feel confident in ramping up vaccinations. If it doesn’t work, the spread will be contained to the island.
Ah so they want to try an experiment with human beings? And perhaps let in a varient that could reek havoc.
Surely they should just follow the science and see the levels of transmissions with vaccines they are reporting.
How would they even know if things were going bad anyways? They could never actually go back and say 'it came from the tourists who arrived in Phuket'. The same way they can never be sure where this new variant that is surging through Thailand now has come from.

Irresponsible beyond belief.
If the newer varients spread this is going to be dangerous. The vaccine DOES NOT stop you catching the virus and spreading it. Even if people in Phuket are vaccinated - won't there be arrivals from Bangkok and other provinces who will be taking it back? Surely they should just wait till the country has a high vaccination point.

So you are calling me a liar? Perhaps you are calling Pritti Patel a liar too? Why do you think the government are wanting to abandon self isolating in favour of quarantine hotels?
During my 10 day quarantine I went out shopping, had my first dose of vaccine, saw my GP, had a haircut, ate out several times and generally carried on life as normal. Had zero contact from anyone in authority. Started my quarantine on April 23rd.
No wonder the UK has had one of the worst outbreaks on the planet .... when you have a British poster openly boasting he broke quarantine. Good grief.

I completed my 10 day self isolation 2 weeks ago. Posted my "day 2 and day 8" tests in a local post box. Have received zero feedback from either test. No "knocks on the door" and no phone calls. Government minister Pritti Patel publicly admitted that the system wasn't working. Quarantine, what quarantine? An absolute joke.
I refuse to believe you didn't get - at bare minimum - any phone calls. Was this recent? Everyone from my work, and colleagues i know online have all recieved daily calls to check you isolating. Perhaps they also have a link to your sim to check your number is at the place you claim - because there was one day my partner took my phone, and that was the day they called round my home.

Makes little sense as you can catch the virus and pass it EVEN if you've had the vaccine.
With the more viralant Indian strain now taking off around Europe, and mainland Thailand not vaccinated this just DANGEROUS.

Again. Who was your test supplier please?
The last time i used 3SIX - they are listed on the locator form link. Like i say they sent a courier last month? Maybe now you can just post it? I know the NHS one you can put in the priority boxes.
You need the reference number and a print out of the confirmation - they check this at the airport. I travelled back on KLM, and whilst at Amsterdam they were insisting everyone show a confirmation of their tests booked.

I've done these three times, and all the times there was a courier to collect. Two of the three times i had knocks on the door by 'them' to check i was isolating, and phone calls every single day.
They have definately beefed it up.

The ridiculous thing is if you live on your own you have to break quarantine to go out and find a special postbox to send the tests to the lab!
You sure you booked a test? Mine were collected by leaving them outside my door, and so were others i know off. Not one asks you to post them back - other than the NHS ones.

Interestingly enough this came up on a largely American forum in which I participate.
Apparently, there is no central database for COVID vaccination in the USA, your proof is a hand written scrap of paper any printer can produce.
CDC say not their responsibility to keep records, up to individual states (who mainly haven't bothered).
Same in the UK, most vaccination centers don't even give a certificate of vaccination.
So how would an airline check?
Blood test at the check-in desk is the only way I can see.
This is nonsense. In the UK your data is loaded up onto your NHS number, which you need to book an appointment (or they will have it from your address details). You can then log into the NHS app and it will show your vaccines there.

Right now, 26% of the UK are fully vaccinated, and it will be over 50% by July. The "proof of vaccinations for 7 day quarantine" is irrelevant now anyway. As I'm sure you know, quarantine is currently for a minimum of 14 days whether or not you've been vaccinated.
Maybe 100-200 brits benefitted from the 7 day quarantine. How many of them used forged vaccination cards? 1? 2? Or more likely, zero.
Go to facebook, you have visitors from India, UK, Pakistan, Bangladesh doing 7 day quarantine programmes last month (before they stopped it). I'd a hazard a guess a few may have forged it, especially when the evidence required was so light.
Mass vaccination of Thais and foreigners begins in five provinces next month

When did they secure Johnson and Johnson vaccine? Pretty exciting news if true - it's a one dose vaccine.
