  1. Use a seedbox, and you won't hog bandwidth due to upload/sharing. Zbigz mentioned earlier is a good example. Also Put.io. They will share back out for a 1/1 ratio...and even can stream it to your phone/tablet from the put.io site.....they have servers in Japan and Sngapore I believe.

  2. I have an Apple TV hooked up to my TV, and the NCAA tournament app on my iPhone (can also be ipad or iPod touch). The NCAA app is free and you can see all the games, PROVIDED you also have either a VPN that shows gives you an IP in the States, or a DNS proxy service like Unblock US (something like that).

Google search DNS proxy and you'll see some options. Sidenote: ONLY use the DNS proxy for streaming...as the way they are usually set-up, whoever runs the proxy can see everything you're doing online.

Back to viewing...so I put whatever game on my iPhone and just airplay (easy built in functionality) to the Apple TV and voila.

I also use NFL GamePass to see all NFL games, but this require a subscription, and MLB, NBA and the NHL all have apps. (Btw these subscription app don't need a VPN as they encourage international viewership).

It is a bit of a set-up, but once it's all done its easy peasy.

  3. Apple TV w/airplay is just awesome. Watching all the NCAA tourney games in near HD on the big screen in BKK. Who needs TrueVisions? (Yeah yeah I now all you non-Americans or non Uni in US grads care). But seriously the flexibility air play provides is just incredible.

  4. Stunned people think these are cool or a good idea. Imagine how you feel if strangers have a camera turned on you and filming you while you eat at a restaurant....walk down the street....etc. Well get ready for it...assume someone will be videoing you all the time...every time you pick your nose or scratch you ass, count on seeing it up on Youtube with a load of snarky comments.

  5. I've had two support issues with AppleCare.

    1) logic board needed replacing on an iMac. I called the Thailand Apple Support number listed on the Apple site, pressed the button for English and spoke to and English speaking rep. Ran through some basic troubleshooting, and was determined I needed a support call. Apple arranged for a tech to come out from a Sathorn/Silom location, he picked up the iMac, and I delivered it back roughly about a week later. Good service.

    2) MacBook needed a HD replacement. This time after troubleshooting on the phone, I was asked to bring to MB to Fortunetown. I did...dropped it at iStudio there, and received a call roughly 3 days later to come pick it up. Again, good service.

  6. The problem with Android for kids, is that Android just has shitty apps (except for the Google apps and a few social media ones). For games, for education and for more *control* on what your kid can do with the phone, can't beat iPhone and the iOS ecosystem, even with a 3GS.
