Did another AirAisa visa run to KL last week,
Normally immigration don't speak when stamping the passport,
This time he said "You don't have a visa", I said "No"
He then stamped my passport and said "You have 30 days"
I could read that as "here you go, the normal 30 days exempt" or "you've got 30 days to sort your sh1t out, no more 30 days exempt"

I use the UKTV app on my two Android boxes. They never buffer and the programs stream great but the voice is always slightly out of sync with the picture.
Anyone else have that problem?

Hmmmm. G3. Looks like my Mrs will be getting my G2 soon.

No idea. Take her to the hospital now. Curfew doesn't apply if you must go to the hospital. 7 months? Don't take any chances.

Just testing UKTV on my Android cheap box. Seems to work fine, although the interface isn't that great.

Yes, share please. They just sent me a link to http://m.eplayer.asia which is nowhere as good as the Windows app.
-
Pity that the ThaiExpat.tv doesn't have an Android app. That ***player.asia (or whatever) doesn't work quite as smoothly as the Windows app.

Thank goodness they waited until the end of the football season to switch off broadcasting. Phew.

If they allowed you to create your favourites by defining channels (i.e. CNN, HBO, etc.) rather than channel numbers then nobody would really care about these updates as your favourites would stay the same whatever channel they move to.
At least if they're moving the stations around then simply change my favourites to the new numbers automatically. It's not rocket science.

Never heard of that camera before, then read this article today:

Just got back from Hanoi.
The process is like this (for anyone interested):
Either go to the Vietnam embassy nearest you and get a visa (allow 2-3 working days and bring a photo) or contact a visa agency like suggested by theoldgit ( myvietnamvisa ) - they did it same day for me after paying $40. You will receive a "Letter of Approval" which will list your name together with other foreigners arriving the same day that the agency processed.
If you're getting the visa on arrival then print off this form: http://www.approval-letter.com/form-on-arrival.pdf "Application for Entry and Exit Visa" (it says take two copies but that is no longer the case - only one required).
When you get off the plane in Hanoi airport and head to passport control, you will find the Visa Upon Arrival (as it's called there) opposite the row of passport control officers. There are two windows: go to the left one (as you look at it from passport control) and hand "Application for Entry and Exit Visa" together with the "Letter of Approval" and your passport. Then go around to the window on the other side and wait (there's no queue) for the robotic voice to call out your name (it's not so clear, so listen carefully - surname followed by forename). Pay the US$45 (April2014), receive your passport with the visa and head through passport control.

It was fast. U ended up paying $40 to get it same day. It's the letter that allows me to board the plane and get a visa on arrival. I'll let you know how I get on.

That was great 'git'.
I contacted them this morning and got the letter of approval this afternoon.
Hanoi on Monday for me and the Mrs.
Cheers for the link.

Sorry for the hijack but can an Irish passport holder get a visa on arrival in Vietnam or do I have to go to their embassy and get one first.
Thanks

Thanks Joe.
That sounds like an option I'd like to try.
I've been googling around and there are many versions of what to do.
If we fly to Udon and stay over night are there any agencies that can handle the rest? (i.e. travel to Savannakeht?) The AirAsia flight gets in at 7pm so staying in Udon sounds like a must.
A google search suggests it's about a two hour drive to Savannakeht so leaving early in the morning would work.
Cheers

Hi
I'm a 52yo (happily) married for 13 years to a Thai and we have two children.
At the moment I am short the 400k to kick off the Non-O process again.
I seem to remember that I cannot get a 1 year Non-O in KL any more.
What is the best I can get from KL now?
Thanks experts
Mick

A friend brought an iPhone back from Japan. Where can he get it unlocked to use in Thailand?
He says that he tried MBK but no luck.
Cheers

Pier 10 or Wang Lang. Big orange tourist boat is the best route.
If too hot you can extend the sky train to Wong Wian Yai and jump in one of the many, many taxis that are usually waiting.

Yep, best phone I've ever had.

Hi
I support a couple of website that use 'classic ASP' (I know).
I'm off to Ireland for a few weeks and need a device should anything happen that needs my input.
So, basically, I need a device that allows me to edit ASP, FTP code to the sites, LogMeIn, decent size screen, keyboard.
Any recommendations?
Cheers
Mick
p.s. Forgot to add: Not too expensive as I don't go away that often, so I won't need to use it that much

Thanks guys.
Seemingly the Mrs. has sorted out flights to Belfast via London on BA (not my favourite), THB42k each for 4 (one kid just turned 12 so is now an 'adult') adults and THB38k for a kid. Including a two day stop over in London on the way home. Show my kids some sights.
All the best.

Yes. Give yourself about 3 hours between arrival and departure in case outbound flight is delayed.
