  1. There is a 2008 Roadstar for sale on http://www.dealfish.co.th for 580.000 Baht.

Thank`s, but no thank you;-) He is not 25 years old and want a cruiser, not a chopper;-)

????? What are you talking about?? It is a 1900cc 2008 Roadstar, I would not call that a chopper. Are you sure you are looking at the right one?

Well, he want a original Roadstar/Warrior. Is this the one you referering to? If not, give me a direct link.

Road Star was not provided with a 1900cc engine, but had 1600cc up to 2004, when it received a new 1670cc engine.

No, that is not the one. I would love to give you the link but it seems to be gone now, it was there yesterday. Anyway, go to dealfish, type in Roadstar and whatever is for sale at the moment will come up.

  2. hi,

just had an email from farang guy selling the steed, there is no green book with this bike, he says a green book will cost me 70-000 thb . maybe i should forget about the steed ? i am in no way questioning his honesty but i want to be safe, seems like its going to be a bit of a minefield out there buying a chopper.

i still love that intruder though !!!!!!!!!!

No green book, stay away, don't buy it. It is not worth the hassle. There are so many second hand Steeds out there with green books.

BTW. I think we are into the same kind of bikes, and as much as i love the Intruder it not a bike i would tour Thailand on. A Sunday bike only.biggrin.png

  3. Not to derail the thread ,my cbr250 battery is on its way out ,Just been quoted 2200 baht for a new one .Seems rather pricey anyone purchased a new battery for there bike and if so how much ? .Cheers

2200 is that from a Honda dealer?  I paid 1500 hundred for mine from a local bike shop.

  4.

Dont think so it ia about fuel. But i was uaing shell v power 95 on my cbr250 and it was running like a dream.
Maybe something about clutch or cables?

i never had the problem you mentioned. check the clutch and cables.

Same here, and i still have mine.  21.000 trouble free kilometers.biggrin.png

  5. Sounds like a good idea and a club that i would like to join, but as said before, Chiang Mai is just too far away. I live in Samut Prakarn, south of Bkk.

Yes I understand the geographic 'challenges' that we face here, and as i posted to another rider, we will look at how we might establish regional branches over time. I cannot promise that this will be achieved in the immediate future, as just getting the main group happening will a real challenge. I will establish a Ulysses Club forum soon on which I will endeavor to keep everyone informed of all developments. It would also be great to set up a web site, but that to is on the wish list and will depend on member's interest. A Bangkok or similar branch would make absolute sense, so keep in touch Biker Bob

    Will do.

  6. i can say Charan Sanitwong Road in Bangkok now! They build metro, underpasses, bridges. Wet plates, potholes everywhere! and road is two lane now.

But worst roads, i have been through India, Nepal and Cambodia.

Kathmandu to Pokhara - Nepal and Pokhara to Jomsom

    Roads on Northern India.

Roads going to North of Cambodia.

5555555 It brings back a lot of memories. Katmandu to Pokhara is probably the worst road i have ever been followed by Goa to Mumbai. I felt like a cowboy there for 18 hours 555.

Goa - Mumbai is actually a good one!

Roads up Northern India is bad especially through Indian Himalayas.

Go down South, roads get better. Actually, their national highways are quite good.

Also, cannot forget the road from Hampi - Hospet to Goa through Hubli road no 34 going 10 kph per hours and constant potholes very deep all around the road and you have to drag the bike at some points but after 50 km, i can say one of the best roads i rode in my life with one of the worlds highest waterfall along the road!

Remember also one more in South India after Chitradurgha, it was dark and i thought taking that short cut to Hospet might be a good idea but i was wrong as it was a truck road with full potholes, 20 kph per hour, only trucks on the road with full beams and horns and middle of nowhere, no electricity, no civilization full dark. that was scary. In India, there are only trucks and rarely busses on roads after dark, no car, no motorbike.

I miss Goa and India a lot man, arrghhh!

II2 i think i am a bit older than you are. I was on that road from Goa to Mumbai in 1995 and trust me, it wasn't good 555

55555 it is probably the easiest way to find them. BTW i will go down as well.

  9. Thanks! When you say Link ... are you talking about Airport Link Cycles in BKK?

No, it is not Airport Link Cycles. It is a shop that sells motorcycle parts. I think they have their main branch on Lat Phrao but i am not sure. As posted above they are always at the big bike weeks so depending on where you are it might be worth it to go to Pattaya bike week the 14th and 15th this months.
