  1. More questions than answers at this stage:

What documents are going to be required? COE, Insurance?

Who pays for the test on arrival?

    Are transit flights allowed?

What about babies and children who cannot get vaccinated? Do they need to quarantine? - This is a big one

What happens if someone tests positive?

If they want families and traditional travel agent type tourists back then they'll need to remove all the impediments that currently exist, not just quarantine.

    Sincerely

I'm sitting in north Laos, ready to spend $3,000+ on a BIG shopping trip to BKK (buying decent clothes, dentistry work, full health check-up, new $1,000 ham radio transceiver, cost of the hotel, food, flights etc, not forgetting a couple of nights of total debauchery!!

I won't go, because I can't go! I don't have the spare time to mess about with quarantine - both in Thailand and when I return to Laos.

Although I'm a strong believer in vaccinations and 'sensible' precautions (mask, cleanser when in close contact), I am coming round to the idea that the world has to move on, and ALL restrictions should be lifted in countries with a high vaccination rate.  Yes, people will still contract this virus and some will die.  But if we don't get 'the world' moving again, then the economy in many countries will also 'die'.  Time to accept the risks and start the world again.

Sex tourist then? Great. Sure the Thai girls can't wait to see you.

  3. As someone who raced British Touring Cars in the early 2000s I have been around the 'Petrolhead' scene for a large part of my life. Having examined 'Ferrari Joe's' extensive car collection I have concluded that he has no clue about what constitutes a decent motor. In fact on reflection is collection is rather aging and included nothing of any merit.

In 1995, I took delivery of the much coveted McLaren F1, a 240MPH beast. I subsequently crashed it into a donut van at Goodwood. Not my proudest moment. The car was economically  unrepairable. I live to tell the tale. These cars now sell for upwards of £12 million, no regrets though, my ex wife would have collected.

Anyone to summarise, Ferrari Joe seems like an absolute cretin.

    Sincerely

  5. Things are starting to get REAL in Thailand unfortunately. Cases are rising exponentially and test, vaccines and beds are non-existent. Just need to look to Indonesia to see what's coming next.

I worry for the Thais and ex-pats alike. The vast majority of the ex-pat community haven't seen the inside of a gym for 40 years, drink like fish and smoke like a Victorian chimney. I for one wouldn't be leaving the house.

I managed to get vaccinated before I came back out here and would seriously advise others to try facilitate the same approach back in your home country.

    Take care out there.

    Sincerely
