Same for people who say they are vegetarians or vegans and love animals...who have a few pet dogs and cats which they are happen enough to go out and buy pet food with lots of MEAT in it ..????
I found long ago it's actually best not to say you are a vegetarian, I normally say I just don't eat meat and fish. Otherwise you get the meat eating fundamentalists having a go trying to prove hypocrisy as you eat Mcvitties biscuits or something else with a bit of trace animal in it. I don't care what others eat and find the Vegans and defensive meat eaters often just as bad as each other with their finger waving.

can you do it without the pink id card? Mrs says no, in that case the local clinic but having lived here 10 years she does not know where that is ????

I'm working on it.
We might have to wait for my niece to wake up, she installed it for me last night. She's home today.
In the mean time she left some clues, Google Play Store was open and she left the keyboard set to Thai. I suspect you need to search the Play Store for Maw Phrom in Thai.
Not line then, I installed the play store app with Thai, has a rating of 2.8 at present! cannot see anything about registering

I have searched: LINE, Google, Google Play Store for the Dr Ready (Mor Prom) app this morning 1st May when the government claimed it would be ready for the vaccine registration and there is no sign of it anywhere yet
Well it probably would crash due to the numbers using it or not work at all even if it were there!

"to a LINE account called หมอพร้อม (MawPrawm = "Dr. Ready")." This is not the correct translation. The correct LINE account is "Mor Prom"
There has been many posts that state that the registration starts on 1st June. This is incorrect, the registrations start on 1st May with the injections starting in June.
AstraZeneca is the vaccine that is listed for over 50's and the Thai version is due to be released in June.
Sinavac is for use for under 50's
A shipment of Pfizer has been purchased but it has not arrived yet with a further shipment to follow.
The vaccine is FREE to all people that LIVE in Thailand, I am not sure about those on Tourist Visa's.
There is no Line account appearing as Mor Prom in a search on the Line app

Good question. So I went to Thai Rath online, Thai version, to find the answer. The stories I found only speak of people over 60 and those with seven different health conditions that increase risk. The Thai Rath articles say nothing about Thai citizenship or residency. I guess I could keep looking, but I'll find out more in person tomorrow (read below). With a little encouragement, I might even report back here.
Registration starts May 1 at your local (tambol) health clinic, at certain hospitals, and to a LINE account called หมอพร้อม (MawPrawm = "Dr. Ready"). Sorry for the forbidden Thai text, but I figure people can cut'n'paste it into LINE to find it. I happen to live right next door to my local government building, so I plan to mosey over there in the morning to find out more.
No line account comes up with Dr Ready in Thai, maybe tomorrow? oh it does come up as an app on playstore, with a 2.8 rating!

Reading in the press how you register for a vaccine, for one.
My wife handles all such matters

If you eat meat you are not an animal lover, but people still like to pretend that they are, while stuffing dead animals down their throats on a regular basis.

Residents should learn the language. It's amazing the benefits you miss out on if you don't.
Benefits such as?

If you really think "an extract of the chopped up stomachs of baby cows" is ovo-lacto vegetarian then you are seriously mistaken. Most traditional cheese is not vegetarian.
The critics will always try and have a go, eg why are you wearing leather shoes if you are a vegetarian, what about carrots you kill them etc. It never bothers me, nor does a bit of fish sauce or rennet, or eating labels. Not eating meat and fish or whatever is not a religion with strict morals.

I've been vegetarian since 1966. I have never been a vegan but have always eaten dairy & eggs. Honestly, that's not so hard.
I've also come to eat seafood. I try to make sure to eat, organic, wild, hormone-free as much as possible.
Try to avoid processed foods, salty, sugary snacks & drink. Just because it has no meat in it, doesn't make it healthy!
Healthy oils are key. The information on how to be meatless & healthy is all around the Internet.
You're going to love it. Welcome home!
Friend in UK went to a pre diabetic clinic at the medical centre They said the last oil you should cook with is olive oil which surprised me. Great on salads etc but when it gets hot it changes chemically somehow and ends up worse than lard!

Hate to rain on anyones (vegetarian) parade. But clearly, none of the posters here have ever lived in rural Thailand. Otherwise they would know that vegetables that reach the markets are laden with pesticides, herbicides, fungicides etc etc. (probably world record).
Guess what, "educated" Thai-Farmers have a patch of land put aside for their personal consumption, with no application of any "chemicals". The rest goes "to market".
Note: Without "chemicals" the yield of crops drops by 30%.
So, the consumption of Thai-Vegetables resembles a process that can be called "self-poisoning in slow motion". Enjoy your "veggi" meal. How about taking up smoking? We all know that and the meat is stuffed with anti biotics. There are reliable organic vegetables easily available in eg in Tops and even Big C now.

It's called May Veggie Home and it has recently closed in that location and re-opened in Sukhumvit Soi 101 near BTS Punnawithi.
Really, it was open in feb, thanks for the update, it had been there 10 years I think, too far now.

Your understanding of "vegetarian" is seriously wrong. If something is made from an extract of the chopped up stomachs of baby cows, then it's not vegetarian. That's what feta cheese (and most cheeses) is made from.
It is vegetarian, lacto vegetarians eat dairy and eggs, they are not food Nazi's like Vegans

Eating egg and dairy is lacto vegetarian, without is vegan.

Not forgetting 7/11 they frozen kho pat at 30 baht and a very tasty Chinese soup in a round box, 35 baht, they have yellow vegetarian labels on, quite edible.

Married and had been here years but local Amphur said no, maybe too much work on their part or looking for a payment. Would rather not say where, but not Bkk. Rather wish now I had persisted
