  1. Tried to get a tiler last year to use those spacing leveling pegs and use the right sort of trowel that bites into the adhesive to give it room to spread out and not come up through the spaces. He used ordinary cement, ordinary trowel and a bit of string, the result was not absolutely awful, but not that good either, Thai standard.

How do you reach the conclusion Buddhism includes the Christian concepts of 'salvation' and 'purification'?

Personally I am firmly of the belief Abrahamic religious conversion activities should cease.

I am firmly of the belief that the world and humanity would be better if all religious activities would cease!

Yes, your local Imm Office can ask to see the TM-30 notification of your address being located in their province.  Normally they would not do that, as it actually only proves their own chaotic administration when they need to ask for that.

A 90-day report is nothing more than a confirmation that the address where you are living in their province has not changed.  So without a TM-30 being filed (notification that that is your official address for Immigration purposes) your 90-day report cannot be approved.

Note: Your 'last' TM-30 report is not the one filed by a Hotel, guesthouse when you made a trip, but is the one that you filed in person at your local Imm Office when relocating there (and which was confirmed as not having changed by your subsequent 90-day reports).  Since June 2020 there is no need anymore to notify your local Imm Office that you have come back from an inter-provincial or even international trip when you go back to your 'official address for immigration purposes' in the province where you are staying.  Your filed TM30 will stay valid as long as your permission to stay is kept alive (including its extension or when using a Re-Entry Permit).  So it is only when exiting Thailand and entering on a new Visa, that you would need to file a TM-30 again (and of course also if your are relocating to a new address in your own or a different province).

Surely it's the TM28 to notify a new address, not the TM30?

  4. Had all of the above, usually all bran, prunes, fruit, plenty of water, papaya etc . Even lactulose ends up not working, same for senokot or and bisolax etc. Problem with psyllium is if you take too much it can block you up more. However I find combined with other ingredients the powders like the Nuui prune powder is the best, Fiberly Donut is another one they are both based on psyllium. If the worst comes to the worst the 10 baht enemas from 7/11 normally do the trick, can be a bit tricky to use though.

Actually, it is all in the accent. The people and the language are the same word.

Often you will here words like "Khamin" or "Khmern". Basically down to the Thai language not having the "R" sound at the end of words but pronouncing it as "N".

The Mrs is Khmer and she is always correcting me that her language is Khamin. It's a pity they don't teach it in schools as it seems to be dying out among the younger ones.

"Peasants" you say. That word alone speaks volumes about your disdain for the local people.

Actually, I have taught in schools in Surin. One where the students spoke Khmer as one of their languages and one where they spoke Laos. 99% were also fluent in both reading and speaking Thai.

May be a little pedantic but the Khmer speak the Khamin language, Khmer are the people

When using a Fixer Agent that gets your extension in a 'friendly' Imm office in another province, where he has connections, you simply need to 'relocate' back to your original address by filing a relocation TM-30 in person at your local Imm Office.  Obviously the Imm Officer handling that TM-30 relocation will know exactly what happened when he sees the new extension stamp that the Fixer Agent secured for you.  But that's not a problem at all, as the practice is tolerated.

The real problem if having used a Fixer Agent to circumvent the financial requirements for your 1-year extension of stay, is that you would not be able to meet the requirements for your NEXT 1-year extension of stay.  But a border-run at the end of your permission to stay, and returning VisaExempt and then apply for a new 90-day Non Imm O Visa would take care of that issue.

Interesting, I never knew these 'legal' arrangements might entail so much dodgy entanglements, think I will stick with cash in the bank

Most agents include the 90-day reporting in their overall fee for an annual extension.

Haven't seen any mention recently of agents who will just do a 90-day report. Believe they ran into issues with the TM30 requirement.

Once you go the visa agent way for an extension eg without funds in the bank, you are more or less tied to them doing 90 day reports and re entry permits- as they have normally obtained the extension from another province from the one you live in. So, if you have an extension from Nan lets say in your passport trying to do a 90 day report at your real immigration office, or anything else, should throw up a few questions about your actual address and how/why the extension is from elsewhere.

I did a 90 day report yesterday in person for the first time in 5 years, been doing online. Used to be one guy with a ruler who tore the bottom of the form off when filled in, used to take about 2 minutes in and out. Now have to line up for a ticket number and for some reason they now want 5 passport copies and a print out of the last TM30 report. How you are meant to get the printout from a non working database I don't know, luckily I had one from 2 years ago. At the desk is a notice stating they need all the documents as they need to know where you are at all times, seems 20 years of them at the same address is not enough!

He doesn't need you to, he wants you to.

Mrs Ubon & I were offered a 3 month visa & 12 month extension direct from IO only two weeks ago, we plan to take them up on it as soon as they stop issuing covid extensions. No middle men. This will be the first time I have ever held a 'dodgy' visa in the many years that I've been here.

Does this make it legal? Or perhaps Mrs Ubon being Thai, the IO knowing us for years and understanding our situation made things easier for us. We aren't all 'dodging the system' as some would claim. Some of us don't have any other options.

what office and how much is he charging? If you have been here for years why would you need a 3 month visa anyway and why is it going to be a 'dodgy' one?
