  1. Why hire an ex-soldier or a boxer with no authority to do anything when an armed police officer is available?
  2. No reason to buy fighter jets instead just have more choppers. What would be your reasoning for suggesting that they spend the money on helicopters instead of planes when they, obviously, cannot do the same jobs?
  3. Those living in the property with the authority of the owners are not "possessing" the property intending to acquire ownership (they are being allowed to live there by the owners) therefore they are not squatters and the process of obtaining ownership by adverse possession (squatters rights) does not apply to them. Of course, if the ownership of the property was distributed to the siblings on the sisters death and they wanted their proceeds there would have to be a sale, either that or your wife could purchase their inherited share from them. The plan to sell now and give those living there a pay-off sounds like a good idea if your suspicions are correct.
  4. Without a will her siblings will inherit her share of the property, presuming that her mother is also deceased. The family who are being allowed by the owners to live in the property rent free are not squatters, so squatter's rights do not apply. Squatter's rights in Thailand apply to unused property that is being occupied by squatters with the intent of acquiring ownership.
  5. "..they complotted to get her money and blame the Swiss man.." What? Where was there any suggestion that they were plotting that?
  6. Not at all confusing, it all seems very straightforward.
  7. Obviously, they could as the RTAF has had Gripens, with engines, for years.
  8. Perhaps their helicopters are not yet due for decommissioning as the planes are.
  9. "Toys for the boys"...gawd. "...they have nothing to defend". Is Thailand not an entity?
  10. But the budget and proposed purchase in 2028 is not "bankrupting Thailand".
  11. Which taxes are "being increased" and how are "bogus reasons" being used to tax incoming tourists and expats?
  12. The report states that the fight started over B10,000, not "50-100 baht".
  13. Almost certainly not. That was reported in inverted commas that you chose to ignore... Mr. Weeraphon sustained ... a “bitten-off lower lip,”
  14. Murderers quite often return after fleeing to check the scene. To see if they've got away it. He wasn't "returning to the scene after fleeing just to see if he got away with it" he went home to where everyone knew he could be found after visiting his sick mate...presumably before he decided to confess.
  15. Judging from so many comments here, it appears that the tax-briefing event is not needed, all the answers are here...just pick the one that you like!
  16. Those figures do not have to be brought into Thailand every year, it just has to be in the bank for each renewal.
  17. Effective from January 1st 2024 so any tax, after all allowances, will be due 2025.
  18. The translated article seems to suggest that they didn't leave the country but had their passports stamped in and out frequently and those entries/exits did not tally with their actual entries/exits on the official system.
  19. Interesting! It's interesting that the translation of the original linked full article sensibly refers to "black drug dealers", Webfact has gone too PC!
  20. That's not illegal, IOs have discretion as to the issuance of extensions and can waive requirements.
