  1. I wonder if he / they actually have covid or they aquired and were rather carriers of the virus in/on their persons. Then... running that PCR gadget at 50 cycles...boom Covid you lose.

If anything like this where to have occurred you know that this would never get out into the public that would be absolutely devastating.

The person was vaccinated and did have a negative test prior to bboarding.

Given this outcome and force jailing of individuals I think it's entirely disingenuous that Thailand invites tourists to holiday here. This is also not to mention that we will hit 10,000 cases in a day within the next day or two and then on to 15,000 eh?

So you're saying that tourism forever will be changed? For 5 years, 10 years, 100 years? Forever is a long time. It will probably be 2-3 years before this pandemic is forgotten and all restrictions go away, and the mass tourism will again start to destroy the country.

I doubt this entirely. Three years Thailand will still be suffering the direct pain.

International tourism for many reasons will die.

  3. What a laff. Thailand still fancies itself in the same league as New Zealand. Covid numbers approaching 10k a day. Hospitals at breaking point. Sinovac a fail with more Sinovac as the continuing answer for Thailand WHEN it arrives. JP Morgan politely refers to it as a failed state.

TV really needs to stop posting this rubbish. When will this happen in reality? No, really...2023 or 24.

Is it true that Thais returning on planes are not required a PCR test prior to arrival....surely this is not correct.

Well you would hope that even if the national is ill with covid that they would accept them into the country.

What isn't at all right is encouraging them to get on the plane in the first place.

  5. Really have to gloat. I knew this would happen.

Hospitalized at their expense with only the hope of insurance picking the costs up no doubt it will be a reimbursable situation. I wonder whether they will walk them to the ATM in Handcuff so they can make massive withdrawals and pay the bill.

How's that sandbox thing promo going now Phuket?

  6. Does anyone have contacts for Sirinkarinwirot or Thammasat? Do you know if they will hire teachers over 60?

    ABAC / Bangkok University??

I halted my interview process at Chula a few years back because I had to take a trip back to United States. Chula disallows new teachers from leaving 4 months after being hired so that was a done deal and I can't go back.

    Thanks

  7. The lack of general education, financial understanding mixed with draconian lending laws makes Thailand an absolutely toxic place for the ignorant and ill informed. Young people, impulse buying become shackled to debt. The whole predatory lending system should be scorned by world media.

Some billionaire could do huge amounts of good by starting a debt assistance program complete with basic education in finance and planning.

"A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus. There were 27,334 new people with a confirmed positive test result for coronavirus on 5 July 2021. Between 29 June 2021 and 5 July 2021, there were 178,128 people who had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 53.2% compared to the previous 7 days." - UK Govt web site.

So a denier of Covid you are, and believe that those that die would have died anyway, is that your point?

My point is at some point you need to get on with it. Two vaccines is plenty good insurance you will not die nor even need hospitalization.

The only thing really holding me back from being out and about is that if infected I am sentenced to hospital jail and insult to injury must pay 200-800k.

If this mess goes on for a year longer with no end game we will make plans to leave.
