So are the powers that be at ThaiVisa sitting around a conference table right now voting on starting a new fishing forum (that is sure to generate more traffic than some of the other forums, such as the health forum for example)?
edit: fish is healthy to eat, so it could be a sub-forum to either the health forum or the food forum. just a thought...
So far, only 44 people have bothered to vote yes. I'd like to see a bit more interest before moving forward on either a forum or subforum, tbh.
how many members did the entire ThaiVisa web forum start with?

An offshoot of the other thread... this one is a poll. I am curious to know where everyone stands. Personally I stand in the line of fire of an ice cold bucket on a hot April day, but i guess some people don't like it.

I can give some tips about Bangkok.
Big fish and expensive dual pricing (Bungsamran) soi navamin 42.
Big fish and cheap no dual priving but a bit more of a chalenge to catch something (Ngau Nam ) shadow lake near the mall Bang Ke ( i got more directions)
Smaller fish.. in all the ponds whereever you go
Sakuna is supposed to have big fish too its near Bang Na (not 100%) sure
Many ponds with smaller fish near Bang Yai
I hear there is a fishing place near onut too
With small i mean up to 10 kg with big i mean 20 to 100 kg mostly 20 -60 kg (youll catch 20 kg most of the time)
Just use different kind of rods for the smaller fish as for the bigger fish
Both are catfish like fish but its just more fun fishing lighter for the smaller ones.
Pattanakarn 78 has a pond with some good fishing. 20 baht all day for fishing. if you want to keep your fish then it is 45 baht a kilo. My friend caught a 5 kilo fish there yesterday, but he released it so if anyone else wants to have a go at him he is still in there.

Books should be green. Not grey.
Very true. That is a good way to tell if you have an illegal book. Counterfeiters in this country often struggle to obtain a good inkjet printer and are therefore forced to use standard black&white Xerox machines from the print shop at about a baht a page. When the color green is copied it is printed at a dark gray color. Many of the police in Thailand suffer from color blindness from staring at bright colored bank notes all day and therefore illegal bikes have gone without notice for such a long time. i guess it is what it is. (my bike is legal as far as i know. they managed to copy it in green if anything)

Definately enjoy a bit of fishing. I'm not sure if we'll get a dedicated forum though. Might be a bit too specific.
Could use this thread for all the fishing types to communicate though.
There is a golf section, and that is pretty specific. I think a fishing section should be given a chance.

YOUR problem is 98.9% are unregistered and have been imported illegally. 1% have 'counterfiet books' that are even more seriously illegal.
can you please tell me where you get your statistics, especially such a specific number as 98.9%? (considering that 78.4% of all statistics are made up on the spot)

I just found out that there is a new Thai embassy in Phenom Phen. Does anyone know where it is in the city (is there a map)? Has anyone been there before? I am going to go there in a few days.

If I wanted to go to Vientiane, Lao by train from Bangkok what would be the best way to go?
-
I just did the exact same thing or at least very similar. i knew the company was not going to report that i left the position to the labor office. therefore, i continued to use the visa and even entered and exited LOS many times before the visa date ended.
When it did end, i wanted to convert from visa based on WP to visa based on marriage. it was no problem to do this in my local immigration office.
first, the immigration office sent me to the labor office to have the wp cancelled (the labor office had no idea that i had actually finished working some time before). the labor office issued a ted-10 (that is what they call the form and i still have it in passport if someone wants a scan). then i brought the ted-10 back to immigration. the ted10 gives you 7 calendar days to leave unless your visa expires first. immigration then cancelled the visa and stamped "under consideration for visa case#..." and i completed processing the visa in the normal manner.
Very interesting. Would you recommend that I go to the labor office to get the ted-10 before I go to immigration then? I was planning on going to immigration today but I may wait for your response first.

I am having a massive craving for some Indian food however I am too lazy to hop on the motorcycle and ride across town.
Is there any place in Bangkok that does Indian food delivery? I need to know quick as my craving is happening right now.

she only has one black eye. i think she needs to be told again!!!

Yes, my one year is based on the WP. I guess I'll head to Lao next week to go get a non-O based on my marriage.
Will there be any hassle trying to leave Thailand with an extension in my passport?
-
I have decided to quit my job due to differences with the administration however I have concerns about my work permit and my visa.
I am on a 1 extension and just did a 90 report last week. My employer will discover that I have quit when I don't show up on Monday and will most likely cancel my work permit immediately. Everything in my passport is in order however I have heard that when a work permit is canceled that you must leave the country within a week to seek a new visa. Does anyone have a definitive answer my dilemma?
How would immigration know if a work permit has been canceled or not?

go have a drink with them. if all else fails, join them.

Any update yet on Dope head ?
Last i heard of him it was he and the judge seen running naked through the jungles of southern Thailand smoking dope and raping the locals. When they weren't violently hopped up on dope they were seen recruiting the local school children into their world of crime. It came as a shock to the western media that a white boy was let off the hook in a country so well known for castrating a large percentage of their population, however it was not reported that the young man hired a lawyer that had offered to share the joint with the judge. It turns out that the more serious crime in the kingdom is "bogarting" that joint. As it turns out the man knew quite well the international rules off "puff puff pass" and "pass the duechie to the left hand side". Now he has become an island attraction and is drawing people from all over the world to join his circle. It seems however that he is met with opposition only by the grumpy old ex-pats that tend find happiness through misfortune of others. Unbeknown to the sadistic party poopers trace amounts of THC have been added to bottled water by such names as Singha and Minere in hopes to make their stay in the Kingdom that much more enjoyable/paranoid.

Pot is illegal in Thailand however it becomes very confusing and people are sent mixed messages when they see the police toking up. It is easy to see why many people get confused as to what the rule of law is when the people that are meant to be enforcing it are the same people that are breaking the law.
I agree that it should not be illegal, however I do agree that because it is and because we are foreigners that we should respect our host country by following the rules that their society has put forth (even if the law was created because of the US led "War on Drugs").
quick edit: just to add, it is impossible to follow all the rules all the time. being aware however can increase your odds of getting away with it. For example, it is impossible for me to go slow on the roads, yet I have never had a speeding ticket in this country. I have yet to get a license as well. :-)

Yes, I have many Thai male friends. It is all about getting into the right circle and then before you know it you wish you had no friends because people won't stop calling you. however I do make a point to set aside 1 day a week for hanging out with my Thai friends.
I genuinely feel sorry for you guys that are saying that you have never had a Thai friend that was male. Maybe you should step away from the computer and go outside.

This was my email to the bastard.
Sorry, but I can not in good conscious exploit the victims of the devastating tsunami. My recommendation to you would be to use the proper channels of reallocating the money to proper charities rather than to to profit from it. You sir are the scum of the earth and such despicable acts are not TRUSTWORTHY.
Now that would be the email to you if you were telling me the truth as to who you are. In reality you are most likely Nigerian and are trying to "chop my dollar". So fuc_k off and get a real job instead of trying to be a societal parasite. It is people like you who prey on the ignorant and the elderly who make me sad for humanity. It is people like you who make trusting strangers impossible. I wish that you were the one drowning in the waters during the tsunami. You will have your day, I am sure of that much.
-
I just got this email and thought I'd post it here to warn people that some ass hole is trying to scam people by using the victims of the tsunami. I'll leave his email in tact so that everyone can flood his inbox with disapproval of his disgusting attempt to cash in on the ones that lost their lives in the disaster.
Greetings! It is understandable that you might be a little bit apprehensive because
you do not know me, Please forgive this unusual manner to contact you, but
this particular letter/email is of exceptional and very private nature, as

if by lard he is referring to fat then a pound would be almost nothing. in fact that would be terribly unhealthy to have that little body fat. i'm sure most women prefer their men to have a little bit more lard than just a pound.
oh yeah, and as far as slobbering goes... sex is a lot more messy than just slobber and that is what makes it so fun.
