Phuket—At 3:50 PM, on March 16th, 2024, Chalong police officers captured two New Zealand nationals who allegedly refused to pull over for a traffic offense, evaded police arrest, and were later accused of assaulting an officer who pursued them in Mueang, Phuket.

According to the police report, Chalong patrol police were performing their regular duty on Chaofa East Road, in front of the Chalong police station. Two foreigners on motorbikes did not follow the traffic laws, not riding close to the left side of the road and riding at high speed in a community area, according to Chalong police.

The police on duty asked for cooperation from them to stop their motorbikes. However, the two violators then allegedly attempted to flee from the police. After the police pursuit, the two foreigners were infuriated and allegedly attacked the police while having the incident recorded by the police.

The situation escalated as the foreigners allegedly attempted to snatch the officers’ firearm causing the gun to fire once, nobody was injured, according to the police.

  3. some interesting comments on the facebook page from Thais  stating the police only stop tourists not the Thais, why is  that, so at least there is some reasoning from some Thais, some of the comments  are really funny...........ban them from coming  again and ALL their family! Another one states Thai soldiers dont  follow Thai law, I  guess that relates to the coup

One wrong death by the State is not 'balanced' by 999 correct ones. That one person could be you or your son or your brother etc etc etc.

on the other hand those 999 wont  cause many more unwanted deaths which may save many other people from that  horror

    Zero. Eyes wide open.

Indeed. I might be asking you for advice then by the sounds of it. I'm expecting lots of ups and downs. The journey is the fun bit, even with all the stress / issues etc. The end product, hopefully, is an added bonus.

Always dreamed of having more land than was absolutely necessary. Early plans are for a ~2 acre lake and a par 3 golf hole in addition to the main house, a large workshop for me and a separate games room. Will see how that actually pans out with funds available. It might just end up with a small hut in the middle of a large field.

The land was mostly used for sweet potatoes and the last crop was harvested this week. There is still a lot of debris to clear and we want to further clear the land back to the boundaries, which are mostly just inside the tree line. We've been quoted 36k baht for the boundary work. This is literally just removing the trees / scrub so that we can build a decent wall at the front and a barbed wire type fence around the rest, initially. At first I thought this sounded a little expensive, but with a perimeter of about 700 metres and quite a few large trees to remove, perhaps it's not.

    Many thanks.

Aside from the construction work, where youll wish you could  have done it  yourself like I had to, who is  going to  maintain all that land? Because if you think you can get decent  staff easily my advice is to save yourself a big headache and walk away now, I too had a similar  dream 12 years  ago 15 rai almost  all done by me , often alone. The lakes 1  rai

  6. Too much BS on spew tube, almost nothing is  real these  days, its  all for  views. There was one Living in a  ghost town cerro gordo but the  guy just made up a story about finding an original  Levis jacket down the mine yet the same jacket was shown in the on site  museum  3-4  years before he bought the place with the same stains and marks  on it but his  followers fought tooth an nail to say it wasnt. After that it  all felt rather  false and then " incredibly"  the main old  building there burnt down..........how dramatic

I like the "real"  people  like Watch Wes  Work https://www.youtube.com/@WatchWesWork

Red  Poppy Ranch used to be ok except the guy never  finishes anything and has become a little boring lately.

I Like Astrum too spacey type  stuff. https://www.youtube.com/@astrumspace/videos

No matter what the "true story" is, it's probably a good idea not to be the next Caucasian foreign male to be pulled over by Thai police. I suspect the blood is running hot for a while among some of the boys in brown.

Struth , we  have one come to our  land once a  week, Id  better lock the gate quickly and leave the 1000 (NO RECEIPT)  in the mailbox  this  month and hide under the sofa.

mmm.... you think disarming Police in a Western country is a good idea and acceptable - or only as a foreigner in a SE Asia country ? ... you think this would lead to a good outcome in say the USA ??

Several incidents over the years of Thai cops going on a shooting spree, id take the word  "cops" here very lightly, better off  calling it an organised mafia

If that had been in the uk.

The cops would have pulled a Ham Sandwich from there pockets and asked the guys,  if they were hungry.

and maybe,  in the next month can you produce your documents at the local police station, if is ok with you.

Dont be so stupid, they would  have had special training to deal with  the Muslim minority and lack of cultural etiquette. Ham sandwiches tsk tsk tsk

That said you have a "producer" and a few  days to do it a  much more sensible civilised  option. I rarely  carry a driving licence, for various reasons, they can arrest me and someone can go get it for me if required
