  1. Not sure. Maybe ask Prawit when he wakes up?
  2. It is of critical importance that some clown in government must to tell a business how to run their business. Sheeeesshh????????.
  3. Oh Dear, starting to sound like one of those errant Jumpin' Jehoshephats ( sometimes referred to as Jehovah's Witnesses) now putting god in the story. Eagerly awaiting the arrival of Buddah, Krishna and other people who live in the sky. Funny story though. Gotta be right up there for the "Plonker of the Week" award. Those photos been downloaded yet Bob. Remember to get mummy to tuck you in tight Bob.????
  4. Good news indeed. "Blessed are the cheesemakers"
  5. My bad. I only use Watsons to buy my evening face masks and other gender- bender goodies before visiting soi 6 Pattaya. I'll keep my eyes peeled for boots of any and every type.
  6. Been in Thailand long Bob? Plenty of stories like this. As they say Bob....photos..... or it didn't happen. Sweet dreams Bob.
  7. Would possibly have happened if Air Chief Marshall Fufu was at the wheel???? It's good to be terrified, keeps one alert.
  8. OK. But health insurance is not just for "sickness". It doesn't matter how much we take care of our bodies when we are attacked by a pack of soi dogs, fall down a rusted drain cover or have drunken Somchai park his pickup in your lounge room (etc, etc). These things are called accidents and sadly happen way too often. Yes.....accidents, which we can not control.
  9. Last time I looked Thailand was not England and I can't recall seeing too many Boots here. This is a Asean forum, not UK.
  10. Good move. A burst water pipe when you are not at home or a smashed Somchai parking his pick up in your lounge room are more likely. We have no control over these things. We do have some control over our health though.
  11. The real problem re have or no have health insurance is that generally we only know the answer after the event.
  12. Only one woman? I guess the others kept things "close to their chest"? She was probably a battery salesperson.????
  13. She clever girl. Sounds like 8 dates and no hokey-pokey. They come in all shapes and sizes.????
  14. Fair call. My comment was only about the ability for a bag to fall down. So far we only have one side of the story but yes, kids should never be "abandoned". Cheers
  15. Not even gunna read this mish-mash of history and guessing games. Thinking this bloke is just banging the keyboard for the sake of it.
  16. Just received my Passport "anniversary update", with effect from September as I hit 65 in January next year. Close on 30% hike from day one. Not 6% for each of the next 5 years. Priced themselves out of my market. Money grabbing is not limited to Thai ventures????. Last year was a 40+% increase for no particular reason. April about the same cost. I've probably lived here long enough now to convalesce in Sri Racha govt hosp if push comes to shove and the local hosp near my wifes village if need be. Can't spend this amount of money based on fear of sickness or accident. I'll chuck a couple hundred bucks per month into separate account as assistance to self insurance. Back to see Wim in Pattaya soon to explore a cheaper local cover. Wim is good value. Not a used car salesman, he prepares options and lets you decide. Bye-bye Passport.
  17. Sheryl, 99% of the time I agree with you, but, around 70 years "Most people have some chronic health conditions"? Most??? That's a long bow to draw. Chronic in whose eyes? I guess we are all ticking time bombs. I had a mate who's heart packed it in aged 36 while playing sport. Ya just never know.
  18. So, please clarify. Are these "pharmacists" now medical practitioners? The pharmacist can perhaps detect underlying issues relating to (say) a stomach ulcer by looking at me over the counter? Likely that google is their #1 friend, closely followed by a sale of whatever.
  19. Not necessarily. "Laws" are usually written by Legislative Draftsmen (or the like). Blokes in suits then generally vote along party lines. My working life partly encompassed this. Stunning as to how many "suits" never read the legislation but voted to enact it????
  20. Thanks, I wasn't aware of that (sarcasm alert). Not sure if the pharmacist is qualified to determine what your health issue may be. Possibly well qualified to sell what is asked of them.
  21. I spend time in the wifes' village. Went to the local clinic twice. Bronchitis and a eye infection. Both times I received 6 diff meds looking suspiciously similar each time. Recognized one tab as paracetamol. Next time I will catch a bus back to my local doc in Pattaya and receive a ridgy didge antibiotic.
  22. Agreed. Having a fisful of meds is akin to a badge of honour. A hospital stay is legend status.
  23. Agreed. Most times they make up jibberish twaddle because they either do not understand the question or do not know the answer. It is just another way of not losing face.
