I don't think the OP is in Oz. Bkk Embassy currently uses 6 weeks as a benchmark. Correct. 6 months generally req'd for travel. Not sure about if req'd simply if you are overseas (ie expat on annual extensions.) Correct. Should have started way sooner.????????

Yes, I would expect a response. Recommend not to surrender your old passport when lodging your application in person at the Embassy. Until you physically pick up the newbie from the Embassy, the old one remains valid. It will then be clipped and have a stamp inserted stating " This passport replaced by passport XU67890" and you sign under the stamp. Your newbie is then activated. (Note, if you choose to have the newbie posted to you, you must submit the old passport with the application. Therefore you do not have a passport at all for maybe 6 weeks -not my preference.)????????

Get on the Embassy website NOW and book appt. When renewing my passport this year it always seemed that the next available appt was 1 month down the track. Took exactly 6 weeks for my newbie to be available. So maybe 10 weeks all up? You possibly be cutting it very fine if at all. Everyone should give themselves at least 4 months minimum.????????

Seems to be the accepted way here. Just hack. Trees regenerate. Give it time to judge and report back.????????

It's kind of an open question. If a doc told me 6 months to live I would possibly have doubts. If the wifey told me, I would ask for the date and likely move out immediately.????????

From what I know most soi dogs only bark at snakes, thus the snake goes behind the first safe fence it can find. Possibly my house.

Just walked 400 metres to and from Mom & Pop shop in East Pattaya. Rounded up by 15 soi dogs protecting their dinner plates which the locals put out. Vermin. Take a big stick with you & prepare for another 100 dogs behind gates in tiny yards to go ape.
