  1. The charges here against Trump are for giving bribes, not taking them
  2. Mr. Roman. Trump is a tag-along. ATLANTA (CN) — The state judge overseeing the election interference case against former President Donald Trump turned down a request from prosecutors on Monday to cancel a hearing set to discuss claims of an "improper" relationship between them. During a hearing, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee rejected the Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis' efforts to quash subpoenas seeking testimony from her and eight others who work in her office, including her special prosecutor Nathan Wade. “Because I think it’s possible that the facts alleged by the defendant could result in disqualification, I think an evidentiary hearing must occur to establish the record on those core allegations,” McAfee said. https://www.courthousenews.com/judge-confirms-hearing-on-relationship-between-trump-prosecutors/ The defendant referenced above is ROMAN
  3. As long as Trump is not again President on 25 JAN 2025, I don't really care whether any dam breaks or not.
  4. It's sometimes like high school: Hey Hey Ho Ho! Donald Trump has got to go.
  5. The motion on Ms. Willis's sex life was filed by Trump co-defendant Mike Roman.
  6. The original motion that brought on this whole issue was filed by Trump co-defendant, Mike Roman, not by Trump although he later filed his own motion. This hearing is on the relationship between Willis and Wade and the financial transactions between them. The comments and media of DA Willis are excluded from the this hearing. But any later ruling on possible jury tampering by the prosecution could have more serious consequences on the overall trial whenever that may be.
  7. In 2020, Willis was elected district attorney for Fulton County, defeating Paul Howard Jr., a six-term incumbent and her former boss. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fani_Willis

Instead, he declined to testify. Oops. Bradley worried about losing law license by testifying The judge says he thinks Bradley’s understanding of privilege could be too broad. With the issue in dispute, Bradley’s testimony has been paused while the court hears from a friend of Willis, Robin Yeartie, who is testifying via Zoom. https://www.ajc.com/politics/bradley-worried-about-losing-law-license-by-testifying/KEMJVGGCANGFBIOHBU3H3E2OTY/ But also: 'Not a one,' Wade says when asked if he has documentation that Fani Willis reimbursed him for trips they took that he paid for Wade said that Willis paid him many thousands of dollars in cash as reimbursement for romantic trips they took together that he put on his credit card. But he said repeatedly that he kept no records of ATM deposits or anything else to corroborate that. “You don’t have a single solitary deposit slip to document depositing … these thousands of dollars,” the money?” Gillen asked. “Not a one,” Wade responded. Over more than 15 minutes of questioning, Wade said he has no away of documenting any of the case (sic) Willis purportedly gave him. 9. Here are the 34 charges against Trump and what they mean If convicted of the felony bookkeeping fraud charge, Trump faces up to four years in prison for each count. The judge could impose consecutive sentences, meaning Trump would have to serve them one after the other. The charge does not carry a mandatory prison sentence, however. Even if convicted on all counts, Trump would not necessarily face jail time. As a first-time offender with no criminal record, legal experts say, it is uncertain whether the former president and 2024 White House candidate would be sentenced to prison if convicted. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/04/04/trump-charges-34-counts-felony/

  11. And as of today he has yet to be in a criminal trial.
  12. And just to note, a defendant in a criminal trial cannot be called by the prosecution to testify. If the defendant chooses to voluntarily testify in his/her own defense, then he/she cannot invoke the 5th amendment on the stand during any cross-examination. And in the NY civil trial Trump invoked the 5th during a mandatory deposition. It was not invoked while on the stand.

  14. He has yet to be involved in a criminal trial.
  15. I have no issue with gay rights as in the US but I am old -- I still have a small jolt every tine I read in the NY Times "He went on vacation with his husband."

  18. Sure but so much has been focused including by yourself on the Willis-Wade relationship that the speeches and media by Ms. Willis may be the more actionable.

  20. This may have a greater impact than the relationship finances: The document accuses Willis of using media appearances to prejudice the defendants in the election interference case before any charges were filed. It argues that Willis's media access to authors of a book was intended to taint the jury pool and document her rise to fame. https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/fulton-county-da-fani-willis-not-forthright-about-relationship-according-to-new-filing
  21. Trump isn't the Prosecutor. And Trump doesn't have to testify at trial.
  22. The original motion was filed by Mike Roman JAN 8, 2024, not Trump. https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4396297-georgia-defendant-trump-election-case-fani-willis/
