He put a full stop at the end of the sentence which contained "2001" and then began a new sentence which contained the word "August" , he should have use a comma to show both sentences were connected , rather than a full stop who denotes two different stand alone sentences .

Russia began their attack on Ukraine AFTER Trump had left office and Biden was POTUS when Russia attacked Ukraine . More likely that Putin didn't attack Ukraine whilst Trump was POTUS because he thought Trump would oppose his actions and he waited until Trump had gone before he started the war
