  1. Is there something going on near Asoke-Sukhumvit area?? I think I'm hearing gun shots. If anyone is near the area and has information please let me know.
  2. Will 60 day Covid extensions be continued after January 25th 2022??? I read about today's cabinet meeting. They extended the emergency decree, but I haven't read anything about the 60 day Covid extensions being extended.
  3. I hear the ambulance almost every hour. Sometimes 2 or 3 per an hour. It wasn't this much before Omicron.
  4. It can be done at either office. The main office also does legalizations and etc as well. Oh. I didn't know that. When I went to the Passport Office they told me to go to the other office.
  5. You don't have to go to the main office in Chaeng Wattana. There is another one more accessible. MRT Khlong Toei. You will see two Ministry of Foreign Affairs offices. The big one is the Passport Office for Thai Citizens. The small one next to the Amazon Cafe and Dunkin Donuts is the Document Legalization Office. You don't have to make an appointment. Just walk in and get a queue. Pay 200 baht for next 2 business day service. Pay 400 baht for expedited service.
  6. So, do you recommend me to go to Nonthaburi instead of CW? Or do I have to go to CW then to Nonthaburi?
  7. Thanks for the update! But why did they send you to Nonthaburi? Did they send other applicants to Nonthaburi as well?
  8. Since embassies are open again, I think I can do them at my embassy. But will I need an original copy of my diploma? Could an affidavit suffice?
  9. Thanks for your input. I actually don't have it notorised nor legalized... I just have a scanned copies of them. Is it required to have those documents notorised?
  10. Hello, I am applying for teaching jobs here in Thailand. I'm current on covid extension. I would like to know if schools will be able to get me a non immigration b visa and work permit, without having to leave the country. I read somewhere that I may have to leave the country to convert my visa. I've also read somewhere that schools will contact visa agencies to help me out. Please let me know if you guys have successfully secured a teaching position and converted your visa, or know of anyone who have done so. Many thanks!
  11. Maybe IOs are asking for a flight ticket to people who arrived after they started issuing covid extension? So people who arrived during the pandemic. Maybe in their logic and reasoning, those people are not entitled to this extension? Because I remember reading a few posts about people who arrived pre-covid, and they all received another extension with no question asked. The reason why return tickets are asked less at MTT maybe because, it is more likely that people who entered Thailand via visa exemption may have been real tourists that arrived pre-covid. Because I don't think many people arrived via visa exemption since the covid outbreak. And maybe people going to other immigration offices in other provinces are not really being asked for a return ticket is because people there are more likely to have entered Thailand pre-covid, because due to domestic travel restrictions, people who entered Thailand during covid, wouldn't have had much of chance to relocate to other provinces. And if they have, after ease of travel restrictions, maybe they haven't spent much time in Thailand to apply for an extension yet, because they are fairly new to the country. Or not enough yet to raise red alarm or just not enough time yet. And the reason people applying at CW are asked for return ticket more often is because, people that arrived during covid are more likely to have entered the country with a tourist visa. What do you guys think?
  12. They've already lost this high season and they are assuming that more people will come to Thailand this upcoming low season. Very interesting.
  13. Oh. I see why immigration officers suddenly became so cocky. Every time one of these guys give out rosy forecast, immigration officers become cockier and cockier. Not the right attitude people want to see from civil servants, especially when ordinary civilians are suffering from lack of tourism in 2020 & 2021 high seasons. Isn't it a bit early to celebrate?
  14. I just read somewhere that its been extended through till the end of December 2021... Some people are being asked for return flight ticket, some people are not.....
  15. They want foreigners to come in and open everything that has been shut, and then <deleted> off...
  16. International tourism on the way??? Yeah! On the way from Paris to Florence.
  17. Its really amazing how they still haven't built railway from Don Muang airport to central Bangkok. It should've been built like 30 years ago.
  18. Where did you read visa extension denial stories? OP I think most of the people who were denied of extension travelled to Thailand post COVID outbreak. I think people like you who arrived pre COVID outbreak get favorable treatment by the immigration.
  19. Yeah. I can see what kind of Thailand they want. Just destroy things that are internationally appreciable and recognizable in Thailand. And build a shopping mall on top of it. I can see their level thinking. They want what they want to see in other places in Thailand. No need to try to talk to them. You cannot convince these people.
