  1. You are the one at fault here, What if he has never heard of the yellows book, which judging by his question, he may well not, then the posts giving that information and options are valid for him, Literalism is the sanctuary of the unthinking,.
  2. Its probably best not to bother. There is no real lasting advantage in getting one. It doesnt eliminate 90 day reports, or the TM30, it doesnt often help with any of the authorities. It may save a bit of hassle if you buy a lot of cars or bikes, otherwise, its largely a waste of time.,
  3. It means its his birthday
  4. can I borrow a quid?
  5. A good idea that I hadn't thought of, thank you. I am due to collect it today so that is the first action I will take.
  6. Mine flooded last week, mud everywhere and a foot of water in the wells, front and back. Took it to my local cleaning place and they stripped it all out to dry it, it has taken 6 days to dry it out and inspect it all and put it back together, but they appear to have done an excellent job. Driverable now but I will take it into Toyota this weekend to have all the oils and filters changed and the underside re greased. Probably not needed, but a good precaution to take.
  7. True, but a lot are very bad deals.
  8. Explanations are all very well, but which ever way you look at it, the guy is being ripped off, as are very many condo livers. Once you add security and maintenance charges to the rent, its just one more reason, among many others, that i would never live in a condo again.
  9. I have a 4 bedroom house, with a pool. I use aircon every night in one bedroom and aircon for about 10 hours per day in my office area. We use fans in the day. My electric bill averages out at 4,500 Baht per month. Your 6,000 is way too high.
  10. Bicycling in a city, apart from the likes of Shanghai, with its properly segregated cycle lanes, is tantamount to suicide. The London mess shows that all too well.
  11. and there you go, its very good advice, but its beyond pathetic that such a situation exists here in LOS. Yes it was over the top by the customer, but even more over the top was the reaction of the business owner. That's social media for you. No wonder they will never advance beyond 'average' as a tropical tourist destination.
  12. Bangkok in particular - might disappear altogether Can't say that would worry me too much
  13. There is no 'First World,' anymore just look at the UK and US for the truth of that statement
  14. well said. Its hardly rocket science now is it.
  15. well done you. She will now have a loving life that was denied to her before.
  16. Yes, they bark in English, so Soi Dogs have no idea what insults they are shouting at them.
  17. so would the OP using English mate.
  18. Everyone in my house understands and speaks only English, even our 3, Thai born dogs.
  19. Only for Citizenship, not for 'Indefinite Leave to Remain'.
  20. why don't you use English, instead of using the Thai title, this is, after all, an English language forum. Not all on here know what you are talking about, including me, until I figured it out. You don't do yourself any favours asking advice when you try to be too clever. Too much of this goes on on this forum.
  21. While the visa and extension requirements mean that the maximum guaranteed stay for the majority of expats is no more than 12 months, then no. If you have PR, then of course it makes sense, but if in any one year, you can be refused another 12 month extension, then why would you make any effort to learn Thai.
