  1. Like the moving walkway incident, this also smacks of Poor Maintenance and zero responsibility for peoples safety. when will Thailand learn prevention is far easier than a cure, operating licences and safety precautions always outweigh usefulness and in this case a child DIED . Cost incalculable, responsibility ...ZERO.
  2. So it would appear that normal minimum maintenance was carried out by a person who is either not qualified or a complete idiot. Loose bolts means only one thing, POOR MAINTENANCE .
  3. f you reside here, best bet leave zero review and you pose no propblems for yourself, however if you are a tourist write the review afte you have left Thailands shores on sites that are active in your own country.. But in reality wpord of mouth is far better and safer and quicker in many cases.
  4. Some-one should educate the NEW boss, respect is earned and until then everyone will view his comments as farcical . He forgot I noticed to tell ALL his offers to obey the LAW as well...!!!!
  5. Being ex-police, there is no THIN LINE, you either are corrupt or not, fact is as the RTO hate criticism and refuse to apologise for anything they do wrong sadly it is percieved Corruption is endemic from the TOP down and recently Senior Police officers actions have proved that this seems to be true. It would takle a concert4d effort for ALL ranks to clean up the RTP . Mot in my lifetime sadly !
  6. Well if he is paying them, better that than scamming unsuspected drivers, walkers etc on spurious made up offences
  7. Behaves like a child, treat him as one, fine and imprison awaitng deportation. Plus compensation how ever much the lady wants. TIme to send message to childish tourists, do the crime, do the time and bye bye
  8. The other problem is that these drivers ae probably not socially aware that their actions are hurting the country and what is worse they7 do not care
  9. LET US think for a moment which country is a threat to Thailand, that is right NONE, So why do you need them ???????????
  10. Absolute B/Sit is the persons individual responsibility to ensure you are insured, not the host county. Tales of motorbicycle accidents are legendary and he problems of not being correctly insured. s with anything buyer beware, your life in in your hands. Failure could result in death
  11. Why unclamp, just re,move the vehicle to a Police Pound , why be polite treat him the same as as a normal person .
  12. The biggest problem is banking, not all of us have the ability to vary bank deposits from the home countrry and constant BANK SHUT Days makes even simp0-le deposits like PENSIONS ETC< DIFFIul, more so when Hai Banks are clow in actually working in the first place
  13. Well yet another sad story and the end result will be a Go find me page etc. here is only one answer, when I came here over two decades ago even then I saw First hand the way MOTORBIKES were being ridden and driven and came to the cponclusion, while I was young enough never to ride a motorbike . Although more expensive to drive a car/truck I feel a lot safer. WHEN too old to drive I WLL OPT For Taxis and/or friends even a local bus/samlor
  14. With over 20 years as a Police OFFICER , any death in custody is a big problem and the fact that he was seriously drunk and flagged by the police at being at risk. THE RTP will have a problem hushing this one up, only sheer incompetence or plain stupidity would allow a drunk like this the time withoput supervision to be able to stand up do the necessary and then hang himself. The fact no medical supervision was done by a DOCTOR as to whether jail or a hospital bed would be better was done it seems. SO THE RTP will have awkward questions to answer. The sad thing is we all know little will happen and another death will be recorded incorrectly
  15. Name and shame the taxi driver , make the authorities remove his licence to be a taxi driver.
  16. Dear RTP, when will you learn and after ovr 30 years as a Police Officer you need to do TWO THINGS 1 Enforcement 24/7....365 days a year 2 Education . Not difficult , but I will say I see Motorcyclists some wearing your Uniform almost weekly riding WITHOUT A HELMET . so the RTP should always practice what it preaches .
  17. Ah the Annual Thai ego on display with little self-control a recipe for DISASTER at any event involving loud music, drink, and stupid people in thailand, what used to be a gentle affair and a friendly village get ogeher is now turned into a time when decent people stay home
  18. Good idea as long as they check all their staff on checkpoints first, last time was stopped the RTP officer was drunk, I was the sober one !!
  19. What do the wonderful so intelligent people think will cure this, ....oh stop all burning ....great idea, however you need then to ENFORCE that not only in Thailand but, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. Fine Mother NATURE for not providing enough wind and rain to move the air around to lessen the impact. Enforcement as we all know is almost non-existent in all these countries when you have done that relocate Chiang Mai to a hilltop where winds clow all the time and the smog will not sit as it does in the valley currently . There simple .....!!!
  20. Ego or as MR PM would say Thainess, and they say This are nice people, they are as long as their GO is not bruised
  21. AND YET Vietnam is introducing a 3 MONTH VISA ON ARRIVAL. oh well all off to Vietnam at least they speak English better
  22. Ah the GOOD old protector of the peace and persons strikes again, amazing Thailand , almost as bad as the Catholic Church .
  23. Rooster, please shut up and be quiet, maybe in your small mind the PANDEMIC IS over, BUT POLLUTION IS NOT, NOR residual infections of a COVID Variant and in any case when you can PRODUCE FULL qualifications stating you are a Virologist or other notable Health Care Professional Qualifications if not , please keep your uneducated MOUTH SHUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Again another report of a serious accident involving a Coach and another vehicle, details so sketchy one uses he imagination to wonder why a car hitting a bus would force the bus into a ditch. RIP to the deceased and that the POLICE whle invstigating come to the truth about the accident, although sadly that hope is somewhat dimmed.
