  1. Hi, @hotchilli, you are right to your opinion, and it is a tourist trap. @bubblegum you ought to stay more informed.
  2. You are welcome. Entrance fee 150 Eur
  3. As it stands now, according to the polls. They are usually close to the truth, otherwise they wouldn´t make them.
  4. You might be right about the danger in assumptions. 😉 However, I will assume again that no such contract exists in Thailand.
  5. We all have personal opinions. It´s full with information. The only thing you had to do was search on google instead of posting a request.
  6. I think your unconditional love to DT, is confusing you. According to polls 5th Oct the percentage is 49% to 48%. Is that what you call BIG? I guess most people will have a different opinion about the mentioned size.
  7. There is a reason for that. They ran out of soap to clean Trumps mouth.
  8. Sure it will exist here too, but my understanding is that it needs to be separated into two or more cases, as never heard about shared liability regarding the same case in Thailand. But that would be easy. One is a bribery case, and the other illegal modification of vehicle in breach of safety standards leading to death.
  9. Exactly, as that was my thought too. Just seemed to be very much a Thai name. 🙂 Of course it can also be Cambodian or Indian as @Matrosen already replied about.
  10. I am sorry, but I fail to understand what you are posting about. Why would I know, or more about, the woman off-line. My post was based on her actions and comments according to the news. Maybe you know all you comment about here personally, but the major part of the forum members do not. If you got no way to tell, then why did you try to? That, to me, seems rather stupid. What do you think?
  11. Right! Also, there is no easy task to fix it all. On one side, you have the flooding every year, that moves everything around. On the other side, there are corruption and money in pockets, that together with ignorance and bad knowledge result in a sub-standard work.
  12. You are actually totally right, when you can´t find anything regarding out of State official affairs regarding bribery, That is because it does not exist. Neither in the Penal Code B.E. 2499 nor in the Organic Act on Anti-Corruption B.E. 2561. The sections that takes up the matter are 128, 144 and 167. They are only regulating briberies regarding State officials, or a person working for an authority spreading knowledge of the authority that was not intended to be public knowledge. To sum it up. The provisions of the Organic Act are again mainly applicable to the public sector, and there is no prohibition or restriction under the Organic Act on the acceptance of any offering in relation to bribery or corruption applicable to the private sector. While the law is applicable only towards the public sector, many private sector entities have also adopted this measure as an internal anti-bribery policy. However, such adoption is not mandatory.
  13. Almost sound like he should have both British and Thai nationality. Or maybe the name is from other nearby country.
  14. Here we have it again. Most likely driving under influence, no helmets and excessive speed. The responsibility lies solely on the male rider, who unfortunately died, which did not care at all for his or his companions safety. If not any of the described, it will still be bad or reckless driving. Here they should also check the rental place, and if they checked up valid driving license before renting out the bike. If not, they should be prosecuted as providing a vehicle illegally that led to a persons death.
  15. No, it was for everything, but it looks like solved now. Didn´t care much about it yesterday. Just tried as it was a second phone I use just for verifications online. You know, you get a lot of emails that way, and it would spam my regular phone. 😉 However, today working, so it might have been phone locking or temporary error with SIM or AIS. Just funny it happened same time someone was talking about an issue. hehe Thanks for you kind assistance and offer to help, though. Have a great weekend.
  16. Yes, they have good and very easy connection within the ecosystem as you describe it. I just find it a bit hard to work with, as I connect to much people working online. Sometimes sharing files, will end up with that one side will need a converter to can open certain documents. Mostly the regular PC side. However, I might think different, as I know the products hold good quality and specifications, if not the whole working world was using regular PC systems. Except the ones working in the graphic industry, where still Mac is the superior standard.
  17. Yeah, I also fell for that at start, so I made the same mistake. No apologies needed. 🙂
  18. First, it´s definitely dirty corrupted inspectors and government agencies that are at most fault here. One thing I wonder about, though. Are the companies trying to shift the blame from them? They are the ones who made the illegal modifications and put people in risk at first place. They are also the ones who are bribing the officials and inspectors, which is also a criminal offense.
  19. So, a pick-up designed to carry more than 10 people. Interesting? What model is that? I want to buy one.
  20. Maybe they should wait until the motorcycle guy who cut in two close to the pick-up can attend.
  21. So, once again the RTP found an easy way to extort money for an individual. We have to call it extortion as they will find it very hard to keep their stance according to the law. This man was not hurting anyone, in distress or in anyway annoying the public. The one they call the good Samaritan is the one they should focus on, as that person seems to be annoyed or scared over things he/she cannot control. That person should be fined for interrupting a peaceful ride on the river.. The Chinese did not do anything wrong unless it is: Against the law to swim in the river. Unlawful to use boat on the river. Not legal to float and film on the river. I don´t think they will find support in the law for such things.
  22. Let´s take this from the beginning @dinsdale, as that was not at all what you posted. We will follow the conversation: Above, I started with pressing on that you can not put a price on a child, but that I considered, and was surprised, that the compensation was quite big this time. I saw that as something positive. Here, you are you are posting that my comment is a to used comment to be interesting as well as you mention that I didn´t put much thought into it, by using the word platitude. By doing that, you also give your first sentence a meaning of sarcastic attitude. Something that was not necessary at all, as I only mentioned that it was a positive that the compensation was of size this time. But as said above, I did say that no price could be placed on losing a child. Because of your sarcastic comment, and you way of presenting that I didn´t put any thinking into it as well as I did not make it interesting enough for you, I delivered a sarcastic comment back, but with a lot of pressure and truth. As a reaction to that, you point out how ridiculous and puerile my last comment was. Sure, in a way you are right, but it only served as a reply to your sarcastic comment. So, let´s just say 1-1 in the pissing contest. After that you are lying! You are posting that you said something you have not even mentioned. Also irrelevant as a reply to my comment, as I never mentioned anything about it. As a last thing, of course there are corruption. We all know that. The question, though: What have all this to do with me posting that they for once at least tried to compensate with a fairly substantial amount?
