https://electrek.co/2025/03/06/toyotas-cheapest-ev-china-crashes-server-starting-at-15000/ Looks like Toyota is back in the game... I doubt they will be selling it in Thailand anytime soon though, still not enough competition in the Thai market and they can still sell plenty of their outdated ICE models here.

What is the source for your data? As it looks completely wrong showing no drop in pickup sales and an increase in EV sales. Actually ExpatOilWorker is correct and BEV sales are down slightly in 2024.

Are you and your children entitled to receive disability payments from the US while living in Thailand? -
I was playing around with insurance quotes on the MG 4 on Roojai and it seems the older the car, the more expensive the insurance premiums by a significant amount. 2022 models are the most expensive and 2024 models the cheapest to insure.

Just a shame about the much higher insurance costs compared to a 599k ICE car.

What low/medium price wine do you recommend.

Funnily enough, I was just in Gourmet Market planning to buy the Riddle Creek Shiraz that was recommended on here. But as soon as I picked up the bottle the staff kind of laughed to each other "Liddle Cleek" and one of them brought over an Italian red (Castellanovo) which they recommended instead, which was the same price (also 399). They said it's made from sangiovese grapes and that's about all I know. So I went with their recommendation, I haven't opened it yet but will report back later. -
Sounds like Thailand is just catching up to Western insurance trends. Younger, less experienced drivers are more risky and EVs are more dangerous as they are heavier with greater acceleration.

Did you have to pay a collection or delivery fee?

So where did you buy this latex mattress from?

It's hardware. The main difference is much faster DC charging if using public chargers and improved efficiency. If looking for an SUV, also check out the Geely EX5, it's a bit cheaper...also Aion V but that looks a bit too cartoon for me.

Around 889,188.71 THB for the base model but it's on the much newer and better EVO platform.

EV prices in Thailand are only going in one direction and that's down...the longer you wait, the cheaper they will become. Last year people were rushing to buy before the EV 3.0 subsidies ended and there was a lot of buyer's remorse. The Chinese are selling older technology here at much higher profit margins so there's still a lot more room for discounts. I'm waiting until the prices and technology are more comparable to China.

I saw Tulip have many varieties of cocoa powder...which one makes the best drinks? A higher cocoa butter percentage? Anyone care to share their recipe?

Yes I thought it probably was although those Belleville "fruit wines" cost the same as the Eaglehawk real wines. I usually buy the Eaglehawks as I reckon they are the best bang for the buck at 399 a bottle but I don't really know much about wine. Australian wine is generally cheaper because they have a trade deal with Thailand. -
But in China they get the 800V EVO platform on the Seal and it's still cheaper than the old version they sell here.

Belleville tastes alright to me but they say fruit wine blend on the label. -
Well the 800V platforms are more efficient and should be able to at least sustain 100kW for much longer...the advertised "150kW" BYD Seal can't even maintain 100kW past 50% SoC. Regardless, if I'm buying a new car in 2025 that I plan to keep for at least 10 years then I want it to have the latest technology.
-
It seems we will only get the 400V version of the BYD Sealion in Thailand too if the DC charging caps at 150 kW. The Thai version of the Geely EX5 also has a lower energy density battery and only 110 kW max charging. All quite disappointing really...looks like we will have to wait another year for a reasonably priced 800V EV like what is available in China right now.

The problem with chargers in malls etc is they tend to charge higher fees than the chargers at gas stations (which already cost more than charging at home). Most of the mall chargers I see are always empty and some of them even have an hourly rate instead of electricity usage.

The Malaysian Sealion is a 400V platform. European is 800V.
