  1. That's being dishonest.......
  2. Does anyone know how we confirm if our pension is or is not assessable income in Thailand? Do we all have to go to the DR and just ask?
  3. ....and yet you don't need to tell a soul you've brought the cash into Thailand unless it's over $15,000.......so you are saying you have to be honest!!!!!
  4. I thought tax avoidance was perfectly legal........speaking as someone who sadly doesn't understand these things.
  5. So problem sorted two trips a year with SWMBO we can bring in $80,000.....laughing.....seems too easy????
  6. $20,000 apparently...so if the wife travels with me!!!!
  7. Seems you can take an unlimited amount....so the bottle neck must be what the Thais let you bring in.
  8. How can the Thai government insist you transfer money for an extension and then jump on it as income and tax it? Seems a tad unfair?
  9. If I transfer my 400,000 each year for my extension and then just use a credit card for any further expenditure does that avoid tax? Is it legal? Or will the costs associated with transferring money like this be greater than the tax? I travel once or twice a year to the UK.....can I just bring in a suitcase full of cash each time? Or should I just read the tax laws...555
  10. I find that very confusing.....my pensions, rentals, dividends, interest payments etc.....all go into one bank account.....who is to say what comes to Thailand came from what savings???
  11. It can be fatal
  12. It is certainly convincing when one reads his background......but I am also reminded of India's most preeminent nuclear physicist who threw up his whole career and future to prove a little boy born into poverty was the reincarnation of Nehru..... hmm.....go figure.
  13. Solved! Just uploaded the files they had ask me to upload on the previous page on the very next page????? Mad.
  14. Not totally relevant, but I get all my med's mailed each quarter from the UK.....lots.....there is always a Thai custom's sticker attached saying "checked"......not that that means anything here....it might just mean someone stuck the label on......anyway....never had a problems.
  15. Haven't read the thread!!.....but our guy put a tiny drill hole into the grouting and then squirted in a very watery cement mix......worked like a dream.....about 40 plus tiles had to be done.....
  16. Next problem......in anticipation of potential problems decided to update the TM30......didn't realise the whole system changed/went down last September and all details were dumped. Anyway, finally got the wife registered on the new system, tried to fill in the address.....no go. Every box is filled in (even long and lat'), but when I click send I just get insufficient data or missing data (something like that).......any ideas anyone?
  17. Did you have to go to your 'own' branch to do that.....or will any branch do?
  18. ....and don't want to get caught out by Thai officialdom. Could someone be kind enough to list what I must now do, if anything? I've recently completed my 90 day report based on my 'old' passport and have a my application for an extension based on marriage coming up mid-Feb. I have a five year driving license, but no yellow book or pink card......oh and I have a Thai bank account of course. Cheers.
  19. Agree.....and that is the crucial part......clinically run trials by professionals with no skin in the game.
  20. I understand what you are saying, but...... I certainly wouldn't realise that to be the case based on this post....???? It just tells me to have a driving license .
