I have had it drummed into me by the wife....... you say nothing......not even politely.......and certainly never say anything to anyone connected to Thailand's finest. On the matter of the car, my father had a similar problem and the car mysteriously caught fire one night. It is wrong, I know, to assign a characteristic trait to a whole nation, but if I were to do so I would say Thais are totally lacking in empathy.

Personally I would consider looking out in the sticks, if you are prepared to travel........I imagine prices are much cheaper in....say...... Isaan.....but the choice might be more limited.

Got these on our external doors.....they are the dogs......tad expensive, but worth it.

We go early doors so hard to tell re popularity....he also shells out 17k a month to the police....one of whom came collecting whilst we were sat there. The little old dear opposite gave the policeman hell......went back a week later and....could be coincidence....her bar was all boarded up.

After covid lockdowns and minimal bounce back re: tourism I think these places are under tremendous financial pressures. Talking to a guy on soi 7, his bar is about 3m x 3m and he's paying 100k a month rent.....got to go some to make a profit on that.
