  1. I have always, 20 years, obtained my "Bank Letter" the previous day. Have seen posted many times that up to a week in advance is acceptable, however I never tried it personally. I've always done it the day before.
  2. Are you sure you have a Fixed Deposit (FD) account - I referred to it as a fixed account. In the US they are commonly referred to as Certificate of Deposit, CD? This is a type of account that you deposit money for a "fixed term", commonly 3, 6, or 12 months (or longer) and get a better interest rate? In my FD account the only activity is interest credits and an entire year is little more than a single page? There is no access to the account except the passbook. Since bank statements became a thing several years ago I've never been required to obtain a statement. I have never made a deposit in the account since I opened it 20 years ago. Are we talking about the same type of account?
  3. The Westoids have the Asians calling each other racist now, SMDH
  4. Almost assuredly 100% correct - that why I included my account type details in my report.
  5. Good catch, one might surmise that I had one too may pints when I was in the mood yesterday and am paying for it today 🍻 (edited the title) - Thanks
  6. Using the 800k method, - fixed account that remains topped up to 800k permanently at Bangkok Bank - TM30 - I am a condo owner, filed TM30 back in 2019 - TM47 is current Prepared the following documents before my immigration visit - TM7 (generated from a Word document I been using for 15+ years) - Condo Map - something I created in Excel some years ago - TM47 (90 days) receipt - Appointment notification - Bank letter obtained the day before Arrived Chaeng Wattana at 08:50 (09:30 appointment) First went to the basement floor, - update bank book with balance forward - Copy (one) of bank book (cover page and last year activity) - Copy (one) of passport - ID page, original extension, most recent extension - Current photo (100 Baht) Had enough time to grab a coffee Visited the documents check counter (09:25), provided the documents listed above - signed a couple of documents they provided then proceeded to renewal counter - at renewal counter 09:30, signed a few more documents - done by 09:45 - Passport returned at 10:05 I attended immigration with a friend who was also renewing retirement extension - only difference is regards residence - he has a one year lease - his landlord recently filed a TM30 in January and his TM47 is also current - he was not asked for a TM30 or a lease agreement - friend had a 10:30 appointment - we were both done at 11:00 Notes - based on concerns from other recent reports - never asked about TM30 - never asked about Bank Statements - no request for a hand-drawn map - not asked to complete another more recent version of the TM7 Uneventful, relatively quick experience, staff were professional, courteous and friendly. We were both in a celebratory mood afterwards, a victory over the immigration bureaucracy was had this day, so followed up our visit with a pub lunch and a few pints. Best of luck on your next renewal.
  7. I never said that Congress should just start impeachment investigations on whomever they please without evidence, you made that up.
  8. Ready-to-Drink Fresh Milk Prices Approved to Increase This has got me to thinking, where can I buy the Not-Ready-to-Drink Fresh Milk? I'm prepared to let milk products sit in the fridge until its "ready-to-drink" to save a few baht.
  9. Indeed, why he so anxious to stop an harmless impeachment inquiry? He says he's innocent and nothing to hide. Let the inquiry continue.
  10. 100% correct, Biden has made open borders a policy ... we don't need any legislation. Biden admin owns this failure, now they are using it for leverage. Under Title 8 he has all the authority he needs. Here are the receipts https://www.adamtownsend.me/timeline-biden-immigration/ And here is the presidential authority under Title 8
  11. Hmmm, is this govt "scheme/plan" going to alter the incentive to provide your own accident insurance, maybe? Only time will tell if the plan goes awry/bust.
  12. @goat you would be well advised to get Thai Lessons from someone other than Dan
  13. I can confirm (wife works at the bank) that the 15th and 16th are the official (as of now) bank holidays for Songkran this year. Government often has an extra day so not so sure about the 17th for immigration - but would not count on them being open.
  14. No, it does not - just logged in with same ID as usual. Didn't notice any changes in the site anywhere, history still intact, the passport number and nationality is still enough to populate the TM47 as before.
  15. The Thai Foreign Ministry is right to call out the Israeli Embassy on this matter, as the Thais are involved in difficult negotiations to get their own citizens released. The interests of the Thai government are not aligned with the Israeli Embassy call for the release of all the hostages at this time - the Thais are concerned with their own people. I understand why the Thai Foreign Ministry is not pleased with the Israeli Embassy. We will see where they stand if/when they get their citizens back - I fully expect them to support a call for the release of the remaining hostages at that time.
  16. Are votes cast in the UN not actions? There has been a shift in international opinion that does not favor the US and/or Israel. https://globalaffairs.org/bluemarble/see-how-32-countries-moved-away-us-and-israel-latest-un-cease-fire-vote
  17. Me thinks you have not been paying attention to the UN votes in the Security Council and General Assembly over a variety of resolutions regarding the conflict and the growing calls internationally for a cease-fire. I call it increasingly isolated, you can split hairs and call it what you wish.
  18. Regardless of how this court rules (it is not a trial) this is not good for the for the Israeli sides PR war regards the conflict. In terms of world opinion Israel continues to be isolated except for primarily US support. A diplomatic/world opinion disaster for Israel and its supporters, the US in particular.
  19. @Will B Good Suggest to try some website like https://www.bringfido.com/lodging/rentals/city/rayong_th/
  20. If you somehow see cancelling as inevitable, then I would suggest the sooner the better. The older you get the higher the risk of making such a decision becomes as our health becomes more fragile. At least you could be banking some premiums while your health is still good.
  21. I once was alarmed about global warming, now I wonder about the future
  22. It always starts with the ironing or some other inane thing ... Next thing you know she won't make you a sandwich or bring you a beer
  23. My opinion is don't expect a lot from "the list" as it being talked about, the unsealed documents are related to the Ghislaine Maxwell civil case. There could be some surprises though. Here is some context written a couple of weeks ago, prior to the release. Here is a followup, as the documents are currently being released - this twitter thread is currently being added to
  24. Part of the reason people are still arriving back in Bangkok is that the holidays were announced/changed in late October. Many people already had travel plans extending through the 2nd or 3rd of January and had no real choice but to keep them. Seems odd to us that they would change the official dates as late as October, I guess this is why we sometimes say TIT
