  1. Things become more curious ... Two months before his Florida home was raided by the FBI, former President Donald Trump secretly received a grand jury subpoena for classified documents belonging to the National Archives, and voluntarily cooperated by turning over responsive evidence, surrendering security surveillance footage and allowing federal agents and a senior Justice Department lawyer to tour his private storage locker, according to a half dozen people familiar with the incident. (more to the story in the link below) https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/all-things-trump/trump-got-grand-jury-subpoena-spring-voluntarily-cooperated-home?utm_source=sf&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=twjs
  2. He does not actually have to go through with the deal, no court is going to force him to. That does not mean that that he escapes all financial obligation - I believe there is a 1 Billion dollar escape clause. If he's serious about rescinding his offer completely then that penalty will be litigated. I would suggest that this is more likely a move by Musk to renegotiate the terms of the buyout agreement. We'll see ...
  3. It's hard to believe because you either misread it or misinterpreted it. If you are fully vaccinated you're free to travel to Thailand, however you're not considered fully vaccinated until 14 days after the last shot.
  4. Snippet, from the link below - กระท้อน (Santol, Sentul, Red sentol, Yellow santol) https://pharmacy.mahidol.ac.th/th/knowledge/article/448/กระท้อน/
  5. I don't think you have much to fear in this regard, the majority opinion specifically includes the following language ... Unable to show concrete reliance on Roe and Casey themselves, the Solicitor General suggests that overruling those decisions would “threaten the Court’s precedents holding that the Due Process Clause protects other rights.” Brief for United States citing Obergefell, Lawrence,Griswold. That is not correct for reasons we have already discuss As even the Casey plurality recognized, “abortion is a unique act” because it terminates “life or potential life.” Roe, abortion is “inherently different from marital intimacy,” “marriage,” or “procreation”. And to ensure that our decision is not misunderstood or mischaracterized, we emphasize that our decision concerns the constitutional right to abortion and no other right. Nothing in this opinion should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion.
  6. It is right in the 2nd paragraph ... I'll just put it here in case you missed it when you read it. JUSTICE ALITO delivered the opinion of the Court. Abortion presents a profound moral issue on which Americans hold sharply conflicting views. Some believe fervently that a human person comes into being at conception and that abortion ends an innocent life. Others feel just as strongly that any regulation of abortion invades a woman’s right to control her own body and prevents women from achieving full equality. Still others in a third group think that abortion should be allowed under some but not all circumstances, and those within this group hold a variety of views about the particular restrictions that should be imposed. For the first 185 years after the adoption of the Constitution, each State was permitted to address this issue in accordance with the views of its citizens. Then, in 1973, this Court decided Roe v. Wade, 410 U. S. 113. Even though the Constitution makes no mention of abortion, the Court held that it confers a broad right to obtain one.
  7. What? Had the right to abortion been explicitly enumerated in the constitution, Roe would not exist. Roe depended on interpreting several other amendments to create the "constitutional right" that has now been overturned. The Dobbs decision has everything to do with the fact that abortion is not an enumerated right and more broadly about under what legal arguments the court can create rights that are not specifically enumerated.
  8. Ukraine should have considered all this before hostilities broke out - it's not like they didn't have 8 long years, since 2014, to figure it all out. Hostilities likely could have been avoided if Ukraine had fulfilled their commitments under the Minsk 2 agreement. Oh, and what were France and Germany, the EU guarantors to the agreement, doing since it was signed in 2014? It all a dangerous mess now. While Russia is the invader, Ukraine and the western powers also deserve a fair share of the blame for allowing escalation to an armed conflict, which the West is now prolonging by arming Ukraine. Hopefully a diplomatic settlement can be reached, sooner rather than later.
  9. I'm very uncomfortable with any new gun restrictions while Putin is still at large !
  10. Lesson learned this year .... Plan well in advance for retirement annual extension appointments. I went on to the booking site almost 3 weeks in advance this year and could only get an appointment 2 weeks out. This left me with an appointment just days ahead of my expiration date, which I typically try to avoid just in case something goes awry.
  11. Love this headline: "many houses hit "after" freak summer storm" Glad the storm itself didn't hit or smack them around, could have done real damage.
  12. Yeah, like in my original post, I re-entered Thailand in possession of a re-entry permit and a still valid permission to stay date - also with less than 6 months on my passport. It was touch and go at the airport though, I initially got denied boarding. At any rate, Immigration let me in without 6 months remaining even though the airline did not want to board me. It sort of like, we're both right, airlines don't want to let you board, but Immigration might be OK, depending on visa etc. I'll still stick to my don't travel with less than 6 months passport validity "advice" to avoid problems even though exceptions and success stories can be found (mine for example).
  13. Didn't all fit on one screenshot here is full itinerary without the expanded details for the unable to board
  14. No - short stay, 4 Apr 22 - 15 Apr 22 (arrival/departure) SFO/BKK, with passport expiration 01Sep22
  15. We all miss odd bits here and there. Using the Skyteam website: For my own purposes, US Passport, the 6 month rule still applies. I tried it with a Swedish passport, without the benefit of knowing the OP's travel or passport details, it also says 6 months.
  16. Thailand is listed under, "The countries listed here require you to have a passport with a period of at least 6 months upon arrival"
  17. The rules vary by country, but 6 months is safe for any destination. The airlines will check the date when issuing a boarding pass as they don't want to get caught up in a passenger denied entry for passport validity. I got caught out by this when I returned to the US a few years ago. I had 6 months on my passport when I departed Thailand, and was a few days under when I came back. When returning, boarding the Bangkok flight, I was initially denied boarding. Eventually they allowed me to board after I signed some documents taking personal responsibility for any costs if I was denied entry. I was on a re-entry permit and annual extension. Immigration on arrival did have a few words with me alright, advising me of passport validity, but let me in. Here is a link https://visaguide.world/tips/passport-6-month-rule/ Best advice is do not travel with under 6 months of remaining validity.
  18. I thought Thais were incapable of math? All the TAT and various other threads told me so !
  19. I was just there (Chaeng Wattana) last week, they did not ask for proof of anything. Filled out a form, gave it to the guy who did the temperature check, that was it. Of course maybe I got "lucky", but I was never asked to show anything to get in, except my passport of course.
  20. I would suggest visiting your Juristic office, they should know tradesmen that frequently do work in your building. I've gotten some good referrals this way.
  21. Patiently waiting them to change that song, "One night in Krungthep Mahanakhon makes a hard man humble"
  22. Shame shame !! So many questions .... Why should Thailand care about the inability of foreigners to conceive? Why can't they adopt? (in their own countries or abroad) Who is pushing for this legislation? Are Thais protesting for the right to be surrogates? Maybe lawyers and NGOs love this stuff, I guess it big business? Perhaps TAT loves the sound of "surrogacy tourism"? How many billion baht is this supposed to generate, is that the motive? Surrogacy often leads to heart breaking stories, just say NO.
  23. At my local market in Bangkok, TongLo, the pork price was down 10 Baht yesterday. Hopefully seafood and veg have also seen price reductions.
  24. I thought that if u received approval for an annual extension of stay but due to passport expiration received a "permitted to stay until date" for less then the one year duration, that there was some way to revisit immigration and have them update the permitted to stay date. Not sure when I read something about it. Have I been under the wrong assumption, is this possible? Can anyone clarify?
  25. The annual Kaset Fair is on at Kasetsart University, ends 5 Feb. The midway features carnival games and rides. The event also has a market and plenty of snack foods.
