  1. When was the USA ever friendly to CH, aside from the first kiss up during Nixon/Kissinger. Y'all can't keep blaming everything on 1 four year administration. Do you really think other countries care what any 'temporary' idiot in charge does or says. As they and their policies, if not backed by Congress, are gone in 4 or 8 yrs. Get over it, just accept Biden is one of the worst representative of the USA that the country has had in a long time. The man struggles putting his thoughts & sentences together, and embarrasses himself every time he goes off script.
  2. What ever progress Blinken may have accomplished, just got negated by his boss.
  3. He was a she at birth, I think, as that 'trans' stuff is a bit confusing at times, not that it matters. https://elevenmyanmar.com/news/with-four-trans-mps-now-in-parliament-the-quest-continues-for-legal-recognition-of-rights-and
  4. I'm an ASUS fan, and mine have more RAM and vid card/non sharing, as needing the extra for editing photos & vids, so much larger files than you'll be dealing with. You'll easily get by with a lower spec'd machine, <฿20k should provide for something very nice. Mine & wife's only cost ฿25k+/-. Hers being a Lenovo, and quite nice.
  5. Unless having a power oops at the house, and using for the frigs, I really can't see ever using our V2L. I used it once, as a tester, but unless in the middle of nowhere, and actually have an appliance / water kettle to plug into it, for maybe a roadside coffee with a view, not really seeing a practical use for it. Live in the sticks and have farm land without power, might come in handy.
  6. A couple Coffee Shops, with food, though don't think we sample the food, just drinks. Chumpon ... Thamsing Cafe Nakhon Si Thammarat ... Moon Café & Roti If traveling between Phatthalung & Trang, this spot was nice ... Phu Sam Yod Coffee / ภูสามยอด คอฟฟี่
  7. For some hilltop views, again, Gulf coast, and Wats seem to get primo land. More than a few step to climb, but easy enough, locally, PKK ... Wat Khao Chong Krachok Also nice viewpoints you can drive up to, at Ban Krut Beach & Thong Wua Laen Beach & north of ... Wat Tang Sai Short stroll to highest point, if there right time of year, may even see migrating Raptors ... Chumphon Raptor Centre Non coastline, but nice for a munch, at Surat Thani ... Baan Bon Khao - View Suai
  8. Hopefully will help with Soi dog issue in town.
  9. Wonder what he did wrong, DIY part, aside from charging indoors & unattended. Was it actually the fault of the DIY bike, or loose wall connection (plug/outlet) that sparked the blaze, then engulfed the bike ... hmm.
  10. Moving down the Gulf coast, on bottom of PKK province. Au Coffee @ Bo Thong Lang Bay Au Coffee Not on the coast, but one of, if not favorite munch spot within 1 hr's drive. Lovely landscaped, coffee/smoothie/sweets/food shop. Partial to the curry U roti myself. Baan Jib @ Ban Krut / บ้านจิบ ที่บ้านกรูด If wanting to be surfside @ Ban Krut for a munch, then ... Cafe’ de Wa IF passing through, and not wanting to leave the Hwy #4, (no view) a decent stop for food & BangChak / EV charging is ... P2N Restaurant If northbound (no view), on the Hwy#4 ... Garage Cafe PrachuapKhiriKhanCS
  11. Everything is designed for aerodynamics now, and why most cars are pretty much the same looking, shape wise. One think I like about our ZS, at first thought, ugly grill, or lack of, any contrast. Now quite like the uniqueness of it. Remember having the Vios & Mazda2, and at mall parking lots, everything looks the same. Without brand emblem you'd never find your car. Liking all the diverse colors now.
  12. Not as a special trip, but if in the area, sure, pop over for a peek. Been there myself a few times, as like the area. The floating market part of the area, is the least interesting aspect of the area. Definitely a tourist trap, with a few well known, overpricing scams in play. Good for a photo opt, and that's about it. One of the Krung Thep canal markets are better. Khlong Bang Luang Floating Market, Krung Thep Along with easy to get to, via public trans: Gmap If headed to Damnoen Saduak, it's a nice lush area, with a few things to peek at while there: Damnoen Saduak
  13. Without specific details, and just watching the vid, I'm not sure the insurers (as much as I dispose them) is wrong for not paying. Hotel/bar tab, and her falling where there obviously isn't an exit, along with no attempt to break her fall, outstretch hands to cushion the impact, does lead to assuming she had more than few. May she have a speedy recovery and get back to the family. Good Luck.
  14. Depends on volume you're blending. One of the those 'bullet' thingys, for 1 or 2 servings at a time. But any more and hard to beat a decent or even inexpensive food processor for just blending. A bit more power is using for some other things, ex; bread making.
  15. Living in SEA/Asia, I've forgotten all about the western manly thinking. Actually bought a red car, something no real man would do in the USA, as aka/girl's car color ???? At first thought it strange, but really warming up to the colors of the EVs I've noticed lately, except orange, and that being one of my favorite 'drone' & MB colors, but not for a car. Completely different from what you'd see for the USA market. Different shades of cream, blue, green, all pretty cool. Actually wish we had more choices for our MG ZS.
  16. That's fine & dandy, if you want to look like & sound like you are driving a performance car. Then by all means, pimp out your ICE car. But if actually wanting to drive a better performing car, suggest an EV.
  17. If just passing through, not wishing to leave Hwy #4 @ PKK municipality, then a few roadside places w/westward view. Only one we've stopped in a few times: Good View / ครัวกู๊ดวิวประจวบฯ
  18. If viewing the coastline (Gulf) is more your thing, then these may interest. These locally where we are, PKK: Bay Camp Cafe If in the area, and on the way to Wat Ao Noi, good spot for munch of bev: Three Ser Cafe Great view from any of the restaurants fronting Ao Prachuap. Best from 'The View", as not obstructed by any parking. Good food & pricing. Don't recommend western food, but Thai food never disappoints: The View Restaurant Don't know why, but Gmap deleted earlier listing & photos of 'The View'. It is connected to Hadthong Hotel, so more photos from: Hadthong Hotel Of course the swimmer's beach for the area, is Ao Manao, with more than a few vendors fronting the bay there. Along with peeking around the 'museum' area: RTAF Wing 5 Ao Manao Gmap
  19. Moving on ... may need to change the title to the 'coffee shop series', as seems to be our 'attractions of late, or views from. If in the area, need a pit stop with a view, as most on main roads or just off of. From latest outing (Surat Thani): Pass on the food, but bevs are OK: Annrin Cafe Better food & coffee, vew not so much: Caligo Coffee Factory Honorable mentions, as we didn't actually sample, but all 3 within 15 kms of each other. Bridge Hill Cafe If wanting to overnight in the area, for 1 or 2 days, Along with being in the middle of these cafes, then: Khao Sok River Home Resort
  20. Thais do gardens quite nicely at times. One in Udon Thani area, if there or passing through. A bit further off the main road, but very nice drive out to Phu Foilum Gmap
  21. Nice, but y'all need to go south, PKK, Chumphon, Ranong, Surat Thani, Phang-Nga, Krabi, as these landscapes are abundant. No real need to look for them, they're just there. Down south and many other places you get a wall of that surrounds you almost.
  22. Do y'all get O&A (out & about), exploring TH, if only your own or neighboring provinces ? Even I got O&A the first 2 years here, when not owning a car, via public trans, bus & train. Which I wouldn't recommend unless needed, as not the most comfy. I accidently Google 'Chiang Rai', and a slideshow pops up in top of search results, and as it played, I realized; seen it, seen it, seen it, seen it. Nice feature of Gsearch. https://www.google.com/search?q=Chiang+Rai&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 We're good for more than a few times a year, just to break to boredom, and see something new: a view, a new coffee shop w/view, a beach, a valley from above. I get bored easily. Save local exploring for 'smog' season, as not too bad locally, or head to less popular/unknown places due south. Then out the door during rainy season to popular, or smog'd in places/north of us, when not rainy season. Did all the history (& touristy), Khmer ruins, Wat'd out after 20, though some unique; wood, marble, different architect, or location, that view again. They seem to be gifted primo locations. Beaches beaches & beaches, aside for the popular ones. Any favorites, feel free to post (not soi 6), and hopefully with a Gmap link, as always open to suggestions. HAPPY TRAVELS
  23. PLEASE keep it on topic, as plenty of threads to debate ICE vs EV & EV vs Petrol, Eco vs dirty, source of energy for CS ... bla bla bla ... THANK YOU Thread is about how to use, your experience, good or bad. Reviews of CS you used. Copy & paste of a previous Out & About (O&A) post we did. Our only one, requiring use of CS. You'll notice we stuck with the MG CS, since only one we were registered with, as a last minute O&A, with itinerary changes along the way. For the long winded version: https://aseannow.com/topic/1276247-ev-owners-…-real-life-experience-help-thread/page/4/#comment-17756935 CS details/review, short version: PKK - HH - Kanchanaburi - Krung Thep - HH - PKK All CS are not equal: ... tester @ MG/PKK fast ... MG / Hua Hin, seemed slower (1st top up), as simply being there, not needed, only 110 kms driven. ... MG / Kanchanaburi, whoa, that was fast ... MG / Krung Thep, 1st one, no op/not a fast charger. Scratch that one for future use. ... MG / Krung Thep, 2nd one, fast and on the route home anyway. No major detour necessary. ... MG / Hua Hin again, wife notices, cable not as thick as the other CS, and probably explaining slower charge up. MG/Krung Thep ... 1st CS was no op, and the only CS, that we didn't call ahead, oops, was out of service (storm zapped). ... 2nd CS, next one close, was only 17 kms away, and on the route we were taking anyway, sort of. Simply reassured my thoughts of calling ahead was a good idea. Since we enjoy staying at ibis Riverside, we'll probably be using that one in the future, going to or from the area.
