Car Blocking the Entrance to my House.
They were not parking across the road from my driveway. They were parking in front of my driveway.

Car Blocking the Entrance to my House.
When are you planning your first trip to Thailand? I am speaking from experience here. I had a three story house in the heart of Phuket old town many years ago. I owned the lot next door also and built a double carport there. Across the narrow road was a snooker hall in which the local police gathered to divide up their tea money. I erected three signs/barriers (one on the roadside and one on the road at each side of my driveway) written in Thai asking please not to park and block my driveway. Thais would just move the signs and park there anyway. I had six bikes when I lived in that house and so when some *ick parked there I would just park two of my older bikes with the steering locked infront and behind the vehicle. Three or four of the guys burred up at me and then I would just point to the signs and to my CCTV camera. All of them had to get other Thais to help them drag my bikes out of the way. My solution was to sell the house as it is an unsolvable problem. Nothing will change the self entitled, selfish and lazy nature of Thai men. Nothing.

OP does not own the road. The car is not parked across the front of his driveway. It is parked on the road. If the *ickhead with the spoiler on his car moves it. Someone else will just park there. Unsolvable problem.

Kiwi Residential Property is Toast. Australia to follow shortly.
Absolutely entirely engineered problem. I am amazed how gullible and politically naive the Australian public are. Banks and politicians have raped and utterly destroyed a once good place to live.

How is it blocking your driveway. It is parked in front of a tree?

Sigh... When are you planning your first trip to Thailand?

No longer matters what they do. Damage to the societal fabric of Australia is beyond repair now. Young Australians cannot afford to buy or rent a house and so no children or families for them. And so the Government, Liberal or Labor is filling the taxable workers void with immigrants. It used to be a fun country to live in. Now it is a *hithole. Plain and simple.

Bank Certificate for Extension Based On Retirement
It is not rocket science. Standard charge for this letter is 100 baht. I got another just last week to do my extension. I hold fund in an FCD so my letter all includes conversion of my balance into THB. But I assume you are using a THB account. Also don't forget that you nee 12 month bank statement for that account also. And your bank book.

Car Blocking the Entrance to my House.
Is it rear wheel drive or front wheel drive? If rear wheel drive just put trolley jack under the diff and move it. If it is front wheel drive you will need two trolley jacks. Go to the local mechanic and pay one of the lads to come to your house with the trolley jacks to help you. Shouldn't cost you more than 500 baht to solve the problem. < Insulting comments edited out >

Avodart (or similar) for Prostate……Where to buy in Chiang Mai and how much…can you help..?
I take 4mg of Doxasozin morning and night. Box of 100 pills lasts 25 days and costs me 125 baht. I was on blood pressure meds also...loszartan. But now I just take the Doxa and that helps me with both my urine flow and my blood pressure. Cheap solution as it kills two birds with one stone. If you get out my posts you will find a photo of the brand (box) that I use.

The October 7 'genocide' video evidence in full: Civilians are slaughtered and mutilated, terrified families rounded up like cattle and Hamas terrorists ring proud parents to boast of atrocities in footage presented by Israel to ICJ
Why did the IJC not just nip this whole thing in the bud and send in Zohan?

Do they check paperwork? (TEFL accreditation, bachelor's degree)
Depends on the individual I would think. Lots of qualified Teachers working here that are screaming alcoholics, drug addicts and kiddie fiddlers.

Amusing scams that you have fallen victim to.
I had ridden motorbikes my whole life from the age of 5. Never owned a Harley but I had just sold my business, retired early, and was living the dream. I had six other motorbikes and two trucks at the time if that makes you happy. The Harley sucked. It was a heavy pig of a thing to ride and always a drama if you got a flat tire or needed a spare part. I have multiple stories of incompetent mechanics working on it. Not scamming, just no *ucking idea what they were doing. As I have already posted on another thread I was riding this bike when I was hit by a out of control minivan on a wet road at the top of the mountain on the road from Surin to Kamala. I landed against the mountainside in the drain and broke two of my ribs (at the back) against a rock. I was lying in the drain all banged up and the bike on top of me. Van driver made eye contact with me and then speed off. Never caught the *rick because it was one of those cookie cutter white Toyota vans everyone drove back then and I could not get his licence plate number. Yes bikes are dangerous...and especially so in Phuket. Thepkrasattri Rd is literally the most deadly strip of tarmac on the planet if you look at bike deaths as a per capita statistic.

Documents required to buy a New Honda Scooter
What he said. New Wave 125 last year at local Honda dealer: Photocopies of passport face page, and current visa or extension Residency certificate I was not asked for copy of rider's licence Be aware that the bike will be given to you with red plates on it, pending the arrival of your plates (and green book) from Bangkok. Mine took about one month at which time you will have to take you bike back to the shop to change out the plate and collect you green book. Check the book to confirm that your name is spelt correctly.

Quick Test for HVAC and Electricians Who are Sent to Your Door: Best Quick Tests to Establish Competence?
Nearly one million years ago I used to teach electromagnetic theory. The other day I was working on my speed boat. The son of the Thai guy who owns the boat birthed next to mine was there cleaning it. I knew from previous discussion with his dad that this lad was in his final year of study and training to be an electrician. The father has done a good job on this lad. He is a nice and polite boy and not a kratom drinking hammock swinger like most of the youth around here. I speak good Thai and so I started to chat with the lad about his studies and his plans once he is finished. I also mentioned that I used to teach lads like him back in my home country. I started to scratch ohms law in the wet sand next to our boats, and transpositions of it, and he had never seen it. More over, he knew what Volts were, but had no idea regarding Amps or Watts. But that is obviously not a problem. Because electricity here is different from the electricity in Farangland.

Amusing scams that you have fallen victim to.
In my first year living here full time I met a girl online. She was an absolute hard ten, smart as a whip, and had a high paying job with a major Thai company working in Thung Song district. I was living in Phuket at the time and so rode my Harley over there to meet her for the first time. Despite viewing numerous photos of her via email, upon meeting her in person I was rather shocked at how stunning she was. The plan was to go on a dinner date and she told me that she knew of this restaurant in the jungle that had private candle lit salas. Perfect I said...let's go... The rule is to never eat seafood at a restaurant that is more than one hour from the coast, however I decided to order stir fried squid. I could not see whether the restaurant was busy or not because the salas were set apart in the jungle. My beautiful date had very decent English and things were going great. I was excited. Then the food arrived. All of the dishes were lack lustre at best. But something was very off with my squid. It was not rotten but it just did not taste right. The sala was only candle lit, so I turned on my phone flash light to inspect my meal more closely. There was not any squid in my dish, only pieces of boiled egg white cut into strips to look like squid. I did not even mention it to my girl and ate the entire dish like it was the best food on the planet. I was not going to let anything torpedo that date. Over to you....

Pickpocketed on the MRT
I am lucky I guess. I have been to 65 countries and never lost anything to thieves. India was the worst of all places one million years ago. On two seperate occassions at different hotels I awoke to find a thief in my room (my GF was with me also). I bashed the guys senseless on both occassions. I surface travelled from Australia to the UK as a kid. Me and a mate were on a crowded overnight bus in Sumatra and the driver asked us to put our backpacks up on the back seat because there was not room where we were sitting. Upon arriving at our loseman the next day we discoverd that the locked zippers on our backpacks had been prised open, and then replaced. But the joke was on them because we were both dirt poor housing commission lads and our packs had nothing but underwear, towels and a few raggedy bits of clothing. Neither of us even had a camera. We could not afford one. Back then I always wore a body belt with my cash and passport inside. I was way too poor to get robbed and my worthless family could not bail me out if it did happen. I have travelled with a body belt my entire life...and still do so nowadays...notwithstanding that, perhaps, I can now AFFORD to be robbed.

New tax era in Thailand begins as Revenue now shares data with 138 countries within the OECD
I have never applied for Thai tax ID. I already pay tax on my Thai share dividends and on my bank interest. It is witheld at the relevant rates. I am here to avoid paperwork so for me I just let them have it. Only thing they could tax me on is if I transfer money in from abroad. But how would it be even possible to determine if this is income (taxable) or just savings. This whole thing is like most Thai government (new ideas). They have zero competency to implement and so it will just fall by the wayside. Just like land taxation, helmet laws, drunk driven....et al...

Hiring A "Lady Take Care Me" Advice?
Hmmm. Living in Thailand and 14 years with the same lady. Perhaps you have failed already?
