I made a transfer last night from Wise account to my BB account - I don't have on line banking & just assumed it was there today ?? I didn't check today but after reading this, I'll go & check my account in the next 30 minutes to see if it's there or not

Seems like a complete misunderstanding of the rules on behalf of the OP. The Immigration officer was trying to tell you that a TM30 is required for an extension - As with all extensions - Nothing new about this.

Interesting point - I have yet to read one report of Immigration making a home visit on anyone who has an agent assisted Retirement Visa.

There is no scrutiny - If someone uses an agent (For whatever reason), the stamp in their passport is just as legitimate as the person who does it themselves without the use of an agent. Immigration knows the score & the only people who seem concerned about this, are the same bods who for whatever reason, keep moaning & complaining about other bods using an agent - Personally, i am not in the slightest bit bothered about how others get their extensions - It doesn't affect me & it ain't none of my business. Live & let live ????
