You didn't mention that he even has the 800,000 Baht to deposit into an account ??? If he does, tell him to persevere. Get the certificate of residence from Immigration. Go to Bangkok bank & tell them that he wishes to make a large deposit into an account & show them the COR - If still no joy, ask to talk with the branch manager & as a last resort, explain that if they can assist you, you would be happy to take out their 1 year accident insurance policy - Approximately 5900 baht & no need to renew in 2nd year. This would probably swing things in his favour - Good luck.
