  1. When my ISP changed from ADSL to Fibre, I don't think the router had a NAT setting like the old one. Still the torrents came down, but the client ("Vuze" or "Azureus") always reported a NAT Error and I don't think the router had the "NAT Table" to set up the Port Forwarding. This was several years ago so I might not be remembering it clearly.
  2. So, today, I got the truth from a TrueVisions caller. Both my boxes are "wire/cable" boxes - the old, large black metal boxes, not the new small plastic "fibre" boxes like the technician temporarily installed on Tuesday and found it didn't work. So that's why he went up his ladder, had a look at the "node" on the street pole, discovered that it wasn't fibre and said he couldn't fix the problem. The TrueVisions caller said they could only change the node for a fibre node because of an order or instruction from the electricity company. I asked him if I was the only person left using the wire/cable system and he said yes. So that's it. True just sent me a message saying I will get another technician visit on Monday. They will fibre up both my boxes after changing them. All for free.
  3. Wow! He's good, but now my brain hurts! I need to give it a rest and start again tomorrow - but thanks again for these pointers. Much appreciated.
  4. ???? Thanks, but that was more of a joke! I'm sure I can get everything I could possibly want to view with one or two boxes, probably just one. I saw a demonstration today of Pulse-TV (by a very kind TV member ????), and that looks excellent. I'll be ordering it tomorrow. But I also want to check out more general Android boxes that I can add IPTV apps to, such as the Xiaomi "Mi TV Box S" that MrJ2U wrote about, and the TiViMate app that looks brilliant.
  5. I'm not that shocked - I used to use TestMy.net years ago. But thanks for reminding me about it!
  6. I'm gonna need a bigger TV. One with 6 HDMI ports. ???? And thanks for your next post. Much appreciated!
  7. That's another issue I'd like to get up to speed with. Anything you can add, Stevenl?
  8. I'm on DTAC phone and 3BB Internet. I'll look into what 3BB have to offer re. TV as both my TVs have 3 HDMI inputs - so I can connect more than one box. I also have Rawai cable connected to my TVs' antenna inputs - only 2,500 a year, but better than looking at a black screen when TrueVisions has a problem. I'll probably get rid of that when I sort out the other options. I'm on 3BB Phuket. My package is 1000/500Mbps. My speed just now - I should be OK:
  9. Thanks - another one for me to check out! Because True have been screwing me for 27,700 per year, after I cancel and go for, say, Pulse-TV I'll still have 17,700 to play with! ????
  10. Looks like the guy(s) running it have improved their privacy/anonymity/security. ????
  11. Yes, I also watch Netflix. But True is like "boiling frogs". Over time, it gets worse and more expensive and you just go along with it. I doubt I would've signed up for the first time today, knowing what the alternatives are.
  12. Yes, I agree - it's just a name. I haven't been on a plane in nearly 18 years and I don't live in Bkk. ????
  13. I guess, with a name like "Chercheur", you need the French channels! ????
  14. I've also got an old CTH dish sitting on top of my car port. Flower pot? Hmm. ???? (I've already got a bird bath, but a CTH bath would be HUGE! ???? )
  15. My contract (27,700?) expires end of next month. I want to get this sorted before then. It's not that I can't afford it, it's just that I am so ----ed off with their support and program selections that I don't want to make them any richer.
  16. Please, somebody tell me about an alternative to TrueVisions!
  17. I recently upload an image and a video: They are both 200 pixels wide and about 300 high. I made them that wide deliberately, so they would appear about the same size. But they didn't. Here they are again: - 200 x 297 200 x 282: Sparky_10_200.mp4 Is there a way to specify the displayed size of the video or adjust it after upload?
  18. Looks like I had better get my Wise transfers sorted out - Krung Thai bank stopped the S.W.I.F.T. "service" on August 1st. How can they just "opt out" of it?
  19. Maybe take a pic of the transformer: ...and a video of what it looks like - and sounds like - at night: Sparky_10_200.mp4
