  1. My old one got mangled recently and I'd like to get another identical one fitted:
  2. Well, I hope so. I have a Skype meeting with my financial adviser on Tuesday and I hope to get some tax-free cash from my investments transferred to my UK Nationwide account. Then I will attempt to transfer an equal amount using both SWIFT and Wise from Nationwide to my Krung Thai account, hopefully recording all the steps in the process, the time taken and the amount that gets transferred.
  3. SWIFT is about 20 pounds, if I recall correctly. I used WISE once, several months ago, but prefer to use SWIFT (mostly because I'm used to it). I transfer every 3 or 4 months so the 20 pounds charge doesn't feel so bad.
  4. I've been thinking about getting a Will written in Thai and English. A friend has used ibcadvisory.com . They are not cheap. This is from their Will and Testament page: Under the Thai Succession Law, when a person dies in Thailand their estate is passed onto their heirs either by their Last Will & Testament or if they don’t have one then by Statutory Right which is in accordance with the Civil & Commercial Code of Thailand (Book VI: Title II Statutory Right of Inheritance sections 1620-1645). Under section 1629 of the Civil and Commercial Code of Thailand there are 6 classes of statutory heirs and they are entitled to inherit in the following order: 1. descendants 2. parents 3. brothers and sisters of full blood 4. brothers and sisters of half-blood 5. grandparents 6. uncles and aunts The surviving spouse is a statutory heir, subject to the special provisions of Section 1635 of Civil and Commercial Code.
  5. It couldn't possibly have been on its way to Poland to pick up more "munitions" for Ukraine, sorry, Bangladesh under contract to NATO, like previous flights. No, definitely not. ????
  6. Indeed, and so is the lie that CO2 causes the climate to change. But that's another story.
  7. I've got two 47-inch LG TVs that I bought 8 years ago. No problems watching IPTV (Pulse-TV) through an Android smart TV box, Youtube channels via WiFi and even regular TV through an aerial.
  8. Good: Interesting that they don't want you to open the package before paying COD...
  9. OK I just ordered COD. Let's see what happens.
  10. Ditto. Shopee no longer send a "One Time Password" - OTP - to my phone. They used to, but not for a couple of months, so I can't buy anything. I've been meaning to go to Kasikorn Bank and ask them if there is a problem with my "Shopping Card" - it is a way to shop using a VISA card where you can set the maximum spend. (I don't fancy allowing a shopping company access to my main bank account.) Maybe I'll see if there I a COD option at Shopee.
  11. If you were to Google: War in Ukraine: Luhansk has fallen - what's to expect? - YouTube ...you will see listed a report by Colonel Markus Reisner of the Austrian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt, a city located south of Vienna. I hope this post doesn't break any rules, if it does please delete it.
  12. Fantastic post - much appreciated. I haven't left Thailand in 20 years and I don't want to take any risk of screwing up my stay here by changing from an O-A to an O - I have nowhere else to go. I do have sufficient money in the bank, so I'll pay for the crappy Health Insurance if that's what it takes to continue to stay here. It's hard to believe that someone at Immigration in Bangkok can't see a way to let people change from O-A to O without actually leaving the country and coming back in again - it IS just a paper exercise that could be done at any Immigration department if a rule was changed. And why have this Health Insurance requirement just for O-A visa holders? Is it because we showed that we had enough money to get the visas in the first place, so we must have money to pay for the Health Insurance?
  13. Try watching the video from the beginning. THAT is when she called the words you are quoting as a "very cynical joke". I think that you are deliberately misunderstanding what she said. I'm not going to waste my time any more on your lies.
  14. You talk rubbish. She called it a very cynical joke. Try again and cherry-pick something else. You think just because I can see Putin's point of view - he doesn't want NATO on his borders - that I am a Putin fan? I'm not, but I've read and continue to read enough from Russian sources to understand his way of thinking. It is clear that you don't.
  15. Call me cynical, but I'm inclined to take any 'facts' originating from (R)ussia (T)oday with more than a grain of salt. Exactly - which is why most people cannot see (don't want to see) the other country's point of view.
  16. No doubt.....???? See you next year after you've charged your Tesla via the USB...
  17. You make a very good point! Unfortunately, I don't know if your understanding about insurance companies, their database and immigration access is correct! I will probably get the 3,000,000 insurance later in the year, just to be on the safe side, if there are no definitive answers forthcoming.
  18. VERY interesting... "Tesla Motors (TSLA 1.24%) notes that using a 110v outlet will charge a Tesla Model S at approximately three miles of range per hour. " Only 3 miles of range per hour of charge!! "Tesla Motors recommends that owners install a 240v outlet for faster charging. The company estimates that this would allow the Model S to charge at 29 miles of range per hour, drastically cutting charging time compared to the 110v outlet. " Almost 10 times more range per hour of charge! How does that work? ????
  19. I can cherry-pick too: "“However, money that is there to be invested in areas that Wales has powers over – health, education, transport – shouldn't be used to fund a non-devolved spending area"
  20. Oh, sorry, does this aspect of the "War In Ukraine" not fit in with your narrative?
