And I think you missed my point about paying this toxic government 100% or more in luxury tax.

All governments are toxic, and frankly,  not driving the car you want to drive if you can afford it, just because of not “paying tax to a toxic government” is pretty foolish.

Lets say you had no job and this government offered you one. Would you take it or starve to death because the “government is toxic”?

Let me guess, you are a Democrat. I am not even American and I can’t stand those self entitled American republicans. But you democrats can also be spotted from miles away…

I am on iPhone as well, but what is the point of this brand doesn't have this problem comment???

The OP has a genuine question and no need to judge his reason why uses an Android Phone or that another brand is better!!

    :wai:

While I agree with what you've written.

Nowadays iPhones not always are more expensive than their Android counterparts. So for someone who is not tech-savvy enough, using an iPhone may be more hassle free, and the cost will be similar to that Huawei he is using.

That was all I meant, as an advise, maybe next time choose an iPhone.

When using a iPhone you have other things to worry about!!

Still better than having to worry about malware that can potentially steal a ton of personal & confidential info about you.

Such vulnerabilities in iOS, while they do exist, they cost and knowledge needed to exploit them is way bigger. A script kiddie even could hack your Android if you are fool enough to open something he fooled you into opening.

Unlike iOS Android has no measures to stop an app you've allowed to run from stealing your data (like iOS has the sandbox or entitlements).

You gotta know your stuff, buddy.

you are right, luck does play a lot in successful investment. One way to mitigate this is to have "systematic" rules to beat the "odds" and the probability. The clueless investors don't even have that or understand that, so really they are gambling.

BS, I am yet to see any strategy at all which is successful in beating the market over a long period of time.

Trading, no matter cryptos, stocks, options, is gambling + a good dose of luck. And it tends to happen that the more you know the less you make trading.

No matter what you trade, if you do trade at all, never risk more than you can afford losing. That IS financial advise.

I now also have a 718 Cayman S in the garage, but the A-class is my daily driver.

It's funny, but nobody tries to race the Porsche, but they will all have a go at the Benz, and nearly always end up embarrassed if I give it a squirt.

Id happily have a go at that Porsche with my daily driver. Aka a proper 6.29L V8 Mercedes E63 ????

Back in May, I think I could hear the owner of a Porsche Panamera 4S (not the turbo s)  crying after a highway pull from 80 to 160…

I think he is comparing the total uselessness of a mask on a motorbike (it accomplishes absolutely nothing, other than making petrified Thais a tiny bit less scared) with the high function and safety factor of a good helmet on a motorbike.

The helmet makes infinitely more sense. The mask does nothing on a moving vehicle. It is the height of insanity and fear of the Zombie Apocalypse.

Yes but a face mask costs nothing to acquire, so it’s not wonder they wear it. A helmet however useful, costs more than many make in a month!

  7. Buy a Thailand Elite Visa and apply for Test & Go after Feb 1st. Quarantine free.

Thailand Elite is the universal way to stay long term in Thailand hassle free.

Of course, according to your personal situation (marriage, retirement, work, etc...) there may be other ways which dont require paying as much upfront.  But I have no idea of your personal circumstances, so I can only suggest something universal.

They won't wear helmets, but they ALL wear a mask on a motorbike. Even when driving alone! Can someone explain this logic to me? It's baffling.
If the Thai govt can use the same tactics as they do to get people to wear masks, for helmets as well, I think it would be a huge improvement.

I'm sure if you went ahead and bought helmets for them. they would wear them!

You are comparing a face mask worth 5 THB (and sometimes even gifted away) with a helmet (which even the worse quality ones will be in the hundredths of baht).

"...you should only do this with a big, financially healthy and reputable real estate firm..."

A real estate firm [sic], why?  What legal jurisdiction do real estate companies have?

Because it’s safer that the usufruct is tied to the developer rather than some random Thai or even a lawyer.

You know, there are millions of people out there in Thailand who ride motorcycle and are still living - even without any injury.

Yes, there are also millions of people out there who smoke and are still living - even disease free.

Doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous, right?

Specially if you are new to Thailand, first time riding here it’s a suicide…

When you enter Thailand your will be stamped in for 12 months.

Your non O-A will have an expiry date. It's a multi entry visa.

Every time you enter Thailand prior to the non O-A expiry you will be stamped in for 12 months

    That's not correct information

    https://thaiconsulatela.org/en/visa/visa-type/non-immigration-category-o-a/

Your visa doesn't get extended every time you enter Thailand. You have to extend it (not the visa, but rather your permission to stay based on your visa) yourself by going to immigration.

  12. No idea.

But I import a lot of stuff from China (including car parts - not so long a Mercedes alternator), which also has a free trade agreement with Thailand, and I never got charged tax to begin with.

A free trade agreement means you directly don't get charged. It's not like first you get charged and then they return it or something alike.

You will need to check the free trade agreement with Malaysia in case it doesn't include car suspension parts or whatever.
