  1. How do I make an online apt for a O-Retirement visa application. Is it the same as the link above? Thanks.
  2. Thank you for the clarification. So if I enter as visa exempt for 30 days then I am required to complete a TM30 registration within 24 hours of arriving at my own condo. However, after I have applied for the O-Visa and 12 month extension I no longer need to complete a further TM30 even if I just hop over to Phuket for a weekend and return to the condo after. Is this correct? Thank you.
  3. Thanks Richard, I’ll see if I can register with the blue house book first although am pretty sure my name isn’t in it, and as mentioned I don’t yet have a yellow book. However as I have the Title deed registered in my name maybe it’s ok still to try this route first. Otherwise if I plan to register for the O-Retirement via CW do I need to also go to the same place to physically do the report for the TM30 as well do you know? Thanks
  4. Thanks Richard, I will keep that in mind as another option too. I guess I will have to at least 1 night accommodation at a hotel if test and go is still working so the hotel will presumably do the first one. However to keep my ducks in a row I’ll get one done when I arrive at the condo as well.
  5. Thanks Richard, as I currently in HK the app is not available to download on via my apple App Store here so will check it out once I get to Thailand. I think I’ll probably do it in person for the first time or at least until I am able to do the O-retirement visa application. I can then be a little more adventurous in trying the blue book info for future registrations. Thanks
  6. Thanks Richard, I presume I am classed as the house master as I would be the person registering. With regards to the house book. I only have a blue book as the condo was purchased from a thai friend who bought it and then transferred the contract rights etc to me for a small profit. I never applied for nor do I have a yellow book which I think I should have. The title deed however is in my name as I checked this is done and as I have only owned the condo for around 4 years I figured I’d wait until the 5 years is up and apply for a yellow book if I need it later. I don’t think my name is in the blue book as this is only for Thais. Do you know whether this creates an issue to me doing the reporting online?
  7. That’s great, thanks. Yea a complete novice with all this stuff so appreciate the guidance. I gather that Chanote means a copy of my title deed which I can provide. I’ll be in Bangkok so will figure it out. Thanks for the guidance.
  8. Good to know. Where did you do your in person report?
  9. Thanks for the comments. I will enter on either a 30 day visa exempt or 60 day tourist visa. Plan to then apply for an O - retirement visa. May travel around Thailand or overseas later so the online option may be useful later. My main concern initially is having it filled in correctly so it doesn’t affect my visa application. Which website do I use to complete this on line by the way? Thanks.
  10. I am trying to make sense of the items I am required to fill out on the TM30 form shortly after I arrive in Bangkok as I will stay at my own condo. First item at the top “Written at” what does this relate to? In the address it asks for the following items to also be completed “Line”, no idea what this means. “Sub District, District and Province. Is Bangkok the province? In which case am confused as to district and sub district. Also why is it requiring address details twice on the same form? Very confused. Any help as to how I am meant to fill this in would be appreciated.
  11. If I am staying at my own condo when I first arrive am I required to complete the TM30 form or should this be done by the Juristic condo office? Also it says on the form that “must notify the local immigration division if located in the Bangkok area.” Also must notify within 24 hours of arriving at the residence. Can someone please clarify if the Juristic person for the condo takes care of this as don’t really fancy a trip to immigration in the first 24 hours of landing. Thank you.
  12. If for example you leave Thailand then return using your existing O-visa. Do you then have to buy the 50k insurance for the remaining term of the visa to maintain the same permission of stay of the remaining visa term? Assume also am using a UK passport.
  13. Thanks Happy Nuff:). I have found the comments on this thread very useful in clarifying to me that there is no need to apply for an O-A Visa and for my requirements ie being able to easily extend my visa, reduced insurance requirements that the O-Retirement visa is the way to go. I also went to my local thai consulate but they only offer the O-A visa in Hong Kong so will enter as visa exempt for 30 days under my UK passport and then apply for the O-retirement visa in Bangkok. Thank you for your comments.
  14. Dr Jack, I recall that when I was considering the O-A visa approach that it required long stay insurance and that the visa does not grant me permission of stay but it is dependent on the period of insurance. If I am therefore entering visa exempt for 30 days and then will apply for O-retirement visa am I understanding correctly that insurance is not required for this and does the O visa permit multiple entry without insurance too if that is the case? Appreciate your assistance.
  15. Thank you for the clarification. As I understand it whichever insurance I obtain also needs to match the validity of the visa. Do I therefore need to apply for the insurance separately for each period of entry ie 30 days visa exempt, then 90 days O-90 days, then O-extension 12 months or can I apply for tue entire duration via 1 policy application to cover the 30, 90 and 12 month extension?
  16. Thank you, re the confirmation of credit advice from my local thai bank it says in the required documents form that I also need a letter of guarantee from my Thai bank addressed to thai immigration dept. Also that this needs to be issued on the same day as my application. Does anyone know what this guarantee letter needs to say if I already have obtained the certification letter from them.? Also I bank with Kaisakorn bank and not sure if I need to go to a particular branch to obtain these documents or my local branch will suffice? In addition, re proof of rental receipts as I have a condo there and plan to apply within the first few weeks of arriving there won’t be any rental receipts. D I just give them my condo address and copy of the title deed? How to obtain a local map showing the location of the condo to give them as it seems this is required as well. Thank you.
  17. I’ll try this route as well although am concerned that technically my uk licence whilst not expired yet is likely classed as invalid as I have been away from the UK for many years.
  18. Dr Jack, I am reading that I need to show proof that the THb800,000 I deposit into my thai bank was generated from outside of Thailand. Do I just use my Telegraphic transfer confirmation from my bank in Hong Kong for this? Also I read a bank guarantee letter is required is this correct for the O-Retirement visa? Am also unsure what form I should complete to take to the immigration and would be grateful if you can clarify that too. Plus as I already own a condo in Bangkok do I need to take a copy of the title deed with me too? Thank you.
  19. Thanks Moonlover. I am inclined to take the test in Thailand and go that route as technically my uk licence is likely invalid anyway as I no longer live in the UK and prefer to do it all correctly.
  20. Thank you, I was also considering this although was unsure whether the HK IDP would be invalid as soon as I leave HK as I have to notify them that I have changed my address within 72 hours. Might go speak with them to find out but your correct it may be a simpler way to go.
