No AC. No fan. Window is adjusted depending on the time of year.

I'm in an urban heatzone, so around 8 years ago, when there was a heatwave, I turned on a fan... to low.

I usually turn on AC to 27 degrees just before switching the light out. Not to cool down but because the human body naturally sleeps when it gets darker... and when it gets cooler.

During those rare cold snaps, I wear a cheap Lazada Chinese Heatvest, and.... I pray it doesn't burn me alive before morning.

    Cheap Charlie.... ????

I was back in Australia until just recently, in the Northern Beaches area just Nth of Sydney. I paid for everything with my touch debit card. I was living in a very large war veterans village, 99% of the residents over 65 yo, many in their 90s. In the village coffee shop/family restaurant they accept cash but 99% of the residents using their debit cards. Also using debit cards for taxis and more.

A side point, in this area most of the banks have removed their ATM machines because of very few transactions to get cash. And some banks have closed branches.

Okay until you lose/break your card! Or someone skims it. ☹️☹️

Retired Russian general Evgeny Buzhinsky has replied to these comments on Russian TV:

"“He (Sanders) doesn’t understand that as a result of the Third World War Britain will physically cease to exist,” Mr Buzhinsky said."

Who himself doesn't understand that the chances of there being any Russian cities left should that happen being somewhere between none and zero.

If they wiped Britain out, they would also wipe out Ireland, large parts of France, Belgium and Holland.   ????

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of this war.

The cost of living in Western Europe 30% higher and some families are really struggling.

Putin is crazy and will not give up. Someone make it happen, smuggle in a cheese sandwich with poison to Kremlin.

It must be very tiring for you to read about it. Children being blown up. Wives, husbands, mothers and fathers being killed. It must be absolutely terrible for you. ☹️☹️

  5. "If I wrote, authorising my Thai bank to release funds from my account to a nominee. Wife for example, would they do so? i.e. Funds locked away for visa purposes. The obvious answer I suppose is to ask them.  I just wonder if others here may have had experience."

No chance! Send her your ATM card.

a year ago or so I was back at university studying dietetics because I wanted to research cancer in that field, but I found there was already people smarter than me working on that so I wasn't too interested, plus I think cancer research should be geared towards more treatment than prevention since it's pretty obvious how to prevent it.

There are many, many different Cancers. I don't think they can all be prevented.

My friend got appendicitis from eating seafood buffet which she neglected, what started as a bacterial intestinal infection lead to burst appendix and almost cost her life - on the way to hospital and at hospital to the operation ward she has lost conscious some 20x and had to be resuscitated (her friend was with her as assistance and she know how serious condition was). I think she had social security but was taken to the closest ER which was private. Cost some 2 months wages, she payed half from her small savings and the rest taken from her wages for half year

2 months wages to pay for treatment which saved her life, I would say that was cheap!

The best I've found is Axa, 250k per accident medical cover for 6,900 baht a year. If in Pattaya go direct to their office on Sukhumvit. Most other insurances i found were low cover.

Axa also has a 500k policy for 15k, i decided that wasn't worth it. All I want is them to treat me in an emergency and i pay extra money as required

What are the limitations on that policy? i.e. age, disability, etc.

  9. UK tipped to 'go in and kick Putin out’ of Ukraine

THE UK has been tipped to "go in and kick Putin out" of Ukraine as Russia threatens to escalate the security risk in the region, Express.co.uk can reveal.
The notion was discussed by defence expert Nicholas Drummond, who stated action may now be needed to be taken in order to end the war. So far, multiple nations have both condemned the Russian-led invasion of Ukraine and supplied Kyiv with much-needed weapons to defend themselves. Express
