Yes, the endless holidays that killed my wife's (and other) restaurant businesses BEFORE Covid in 2016 when punters realized that the benevolent leader's added "happiness holidays" meant they were broke at the end of the month and resorted to 7-eleven's TV dinners and the microwave oven. I would suggest that identity theft plays second fiddle to corruption within Thailand's various government offices. Collectively, they probably have a higher under-the-table GDP than Thailand's state-owned entities. I am quite confident in my belief that had a very significant 'donation' been offered, the top man at the local Land Office would have signed off on everything sight unseen. When it comes to the illicit transfer of chanote's for significant chunks of land, those with the money to cough up 80 million baht and more, probably have the resources to fund a new Merc or two.

From the OP's "the machine room (under the hot roof)" it would suggest the heat radiating from a thin, un-insulated machine room ceiling is adding to any heat being generated by the lifting gear inside the machine room. I agree that some form of forced air circulation would be a first step. The control room doors should also have louvers on the lowest panels so that cooler air is drawn in there and the rising hot air extracted near the top.

Yes, a lot of the AIS 12-month 15 Mbps are sold out and the few that are still around are around ฿2,190 but I found a 12-month 8 Mbps for ฿1,890. I reckon I will still hit the AIS store and see if they have stock. Although the 8 Mbps is probably more than adequate for me, why pay more for less?

I would assume that their network would autosense multiple devices on a single user and anyone creating regular, multi-phone connections would simply see their bandwidth hobbled. As you subsequently suggest, it's 'fair use'. I bought my 1-year DTAC SIM Thep 30Mbps for my office router on lazada last December for ฿1,689. Just hit up the same reseller and the same SIM is now ฿1,950. Anyway, I will go for a 1-year option as then I don't have to worry about it running out while I am away from the fort. More efficient and cheaper too.

I noticed the above referenced AIS SIM net marathon Sim has the exclusion "sharing Internet via Hotspot". Over on DTAC's online "best value" deals is the following 1-year SIM that works out at ~208 baht/month excl. tax. It also prohibits hot spotting. NB: It's only available via their app. Is using either of these SIM in my O2 dongle to create Wi-Fi for sharing internet the same as "hot spotting" on a smartphone? I did notice yesterday while browsing AIS's offers that some SIM were specifically stated as being suitable for using in a dongle or router.

That makes a difference (unfortunately) and proves that many Farangs here play up as if Thailand was just waiting for them and without them the country would be doomed. I touched also virgin ground and experience the same... I have met so far 2 Farangs at Tescos, but they are not from my village. One "classic" retiree in sleeveless Chang T-shirt scrolling on his own through the shelfs and one was a "1%er Biker Type" and he was surrounded by Thais in different ages, all were laughing and joking. So the dress has only a minor impact... And the daily visits from neighbors show that you can be integrated when you behave and stick to the Do's and don't Do's..... Isn't difficult at all.. I would say I live "slightly" more on the wealthy side, after 42 years worldwide travelling as consultant and a day rate you might never have dreamed about... My pension is safe, so I didn't not want to suffer a retirement at the stone table, loading off daily emotional garbage or as bar owner receiving lots of daily emotional garbage...
