Platinum Member Advanced Members 938 2421 posts Posted 6 hours ago You are correct; a lieutenant colonel and his/her name, which is unusual, (the naming of names). It would be interesting to know how these ranks are attained. Does one train as a doctor, then as a police officer? Or are they honorary titles? I have always heard good things about the Police Hospital in its abilities and facilities, which is not surprising, given their "customer base's" exposure to harm and injury. I thought this was a fair dinkum response acknowledging that I had not read the Sanook article, but it obviously does not meet your standards. My lack of a grovelling apology duly noted, and heartily given to you.

Thailand reports declining COVID-19 cases for the 4th consecutive day

I was irritated to see another one of those tone deaf Instagram posts from a young fit healthy man, (not an essential worker, unless an IG influencer counts), getting his second jab at IconSIAM yesterday. The lack of sensitivity is breathtaking. (Sure, jump queues, use daddy's influence, but don't crow about it to your 50k followers.) And yes, he is not alone, but I think most have realised that this type of bragging is just not cool. -
Twenty baht doesn't go very far these days.

Thanks. What also amazes me is the short time between Dose 1 & 2. Mine is 12 weeks, yours 3 weeks. -
I live in a condo. Always have separate machines for washing & drying. Mine are both Samsung. I've only recently discovered the "wrinkle free" function on the dryer, which is handy as I fold most laundry since I went maidless in April because of the pandemic. Any experience I've had with a combo has not been a success. I want the laundry washed, dried and folded within a couple of hours, not hanging around (literally) for hours.

Indeed, why do vaccination numbers dwindle significantly on Saturdays and Sundays? Is there only one team at each centre, which has to work 5 out of 7 days, or do they have a large team, on a shift basis? It's not as though Covid takes the weekend off. I rang BNH yesterday, to speak to the vaccination centre..."closed Saturday & Sunday". Why?

Lawyer who leaked Joe Ferrari tape sued for defamation

*Misquote edited out* That was my point. You have to read the OP. He conflates the two. -

There is no universality in what one was given at an inoculation. Mine simply has my name, time and date of next appointment: Or, you can pick them up for free at most pharmacies. The approach in UK is they want to eradicate cases, not make money off the facilities to achieve that; it's quite radical. (And yes, I know nothing is free etc, but having just bought an antigen kit (5x) made by Roche for THB1400, it's a bit "freer" than that.) 4 tables. Not necessarily in the same restaurant. Yes, I got my office whiz to do for me...still drew blanks. Need to check with my hospital; it's possible the Mor Prom app for this is different to the one I completed using my pink ID. -

I don't think Boss is (yet) a government minister, but it's only August 2021. I think stashing illicit wealth overseas is quite difficult now. Well, you can do it in Laos, or Cambodia, or in gold bars, (or maybe bitcoin), but if you want to use it in a legit business in an OECD country, you'd have a lot of questions to answer, (with proof of honesty). -
In China, (which Thailand would like to emulate), this guy would be executed. In China they have to take out a few of the bad ones to show the people that they are seriously deserving of running and controlling the country. "Jo" is by no means the big fish, and again, in China, they go after a few of the big fish too. The Thais haven't quite grasped that tenet in the emulation process. I am not in favour of capital punishment, but I think it's a concept that might have significant impact on the Thai psyche, and clearly the RTP is in dire straits.

I agree. It's insane. The variations are completely bonkers. And this circus will carry on for at least another year at best.
