  1. I'm talking about entry to UK. If you are vaccinated in Thailand with whatever brand, you have to do 10 day self-isolation, (assuming you "wash-out" in a green or amber country before arrival in UK, effective 30 August 2021). It matters not where the vaccine was made, it matters where you were inoculated. So even though AZ made in Thailand or South Korea or Belgium, or UK is the same, if it was administered, (the syringe inserted into your arm), in Thailand, it is not currently recognised by the agency in UK to enable you to qualify for no quarantine. Pfizer, Moderna, etc (any brand) made outside of Thailand, but administered in Thailand is not recognised to allow exemption to the self-isolation rule that applies until 30 August.
  2. Yes, that's why I was saying "obviously in the case of Pfizer" where it was administered, because no Pfizer made in Thailand.
  3. Actually, I subsequently realise I used different words, but obviously in the case of Pfizer, it's the administration of the inoculation in Thailand, but in the case of AZ, it could be both. However, I don't know whether British Embassy staff, for example, who may have been inoculated with AZ made in UK, but had them inoculated in Thailand, would be subject to the 10 day isolation. I'm sure there is a work around for them, as in, inoculated at the Embassy, (British soil?), or treated differently through diplomatic immunity.
  4. Promoted probably for his concern for the welfare of Thailand's children, and his Herculean efforts to eradicate drugs from them, and the population in general.
  5. It's not which brand, it's where you were inoculated. If in Thailand, vaccinations of whatever brand are not yet approved by the UK agency. Only those from UK, EU & USA.
  6. But if you travel from Thailand, and get "washed out" in a green or amber country, but you received your vaccination in Thailand, you still need to self-isolate for 10 days. Only vaccinations made in UK, EU and USA are exempt from the self-isolation requirement.
  7. Yes, this aspect of the case is very illuminating. It grants a huge incentive to make a bit on the side. In "Jo's" case maybe up to THB300m. This bounty hunter scheme is an obscenity. Anyway, it's the way it is here, and ever more shall be. Exposure of the case is shocking and sickening, even when we know this is how things roll in Thailand. But Jo is just the tip of the iceberg, and without the CCTV footage he would still be fully operational. Without him, the "system" is still fully operational. The next in line for this post is champing at the bit.
  8. I noted that in the announcement. I wonder how it impacts the spouses or civil partners of British Nationals.
  9. I read and saw pictures of him proposing to some sleb, (aka model/actress/beauty pageant winner), but the article which showed pictures of the OTT proposal, added that she turned him down. Maybe a subsequent candidate?
  10. With (international) anti money laundering regulations in place in OECD countries and some others not in that number, the destinations for illicit wealth are limited to countries like Laos and Cambodia, (and within Thailand, obviously). I made a modest investment in a private placement recently in a UK company, and explanation of the origin of funds for investment and my "source of wealth" were extremely stringent. I don't think he was married.
  11. You should be glad you're not in Hong Kong or PRC - 21 days quarantine. I'm dreading it, if it's still in place in 3-4 months, when I have to go.
  12. It was a bit disappointing I thought, (episode 1, which I watched last night), given the stellar performances by Nicola Walker in Unforgotten. This is just not that well-written, or acted by her fellow actors. Rather a pity to dilute her repertoire.
  13. When I leave a shop (two pharmacies yesterday), I use the hand gel after I have received my goods/money/card etc....and I say "thank you" and walk out. Happily the long-suffering shop staff do not take umbrage at my attempts to use all hygienic facilities on offer; in fact they might be grateful that I take the hygiene protocols seriously, and am protecting them too.
