The minister informed that relevant agencies are currently trying their best to gather the amount of money needed and have been selling rice in stock and looking for loans, though every action has proven to be difficult due to the limitations current state of the government.
He further ensured the rice mortgage scheme was implemented for the benefit of the farmers and asked that corruption and delay in payments be looked at differently, as they are two different things.
Whaat?! No, not at all related. Take his word for it. Leave it out of the risk assessment analysis.

Very light traffic flowing normally through Wireless, Ploenchit, Langsuan. Traffic light on Sathorn today all around 1.30pm. Silom Road "market" very busy...being a market. Shops in Central Chidlom, Siam Paragon very busy with shoppers, many dressed in red (for Chinese New Year). Most appear to be ignoring what is going on. In fact this seems to be the reaction from a number of middle class Thais I have asked about the protests...not quite "what protests?", but just manoeuvering around it physically and figuratively.

I was planning to go tomorrow, but I saw a tweet that Suthep will lead a march along Sukhumvit from Onnut to Silom, so I guess it will all be closed off again, as it was when I went last Thursday. &&** it!
Well.. If you can leave the car at home and take the BTS then you shouldn't have too much trouble during the day... Then again, if you're driving, it would depend where in Bangkok you're coming from, it's doable i.e coming down Narathiwat..
Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
Haven't seen any tweets about today's march. Anyone in Sukhumvit who can update?

It's open, but as you can see from the below image, it's a shit fight! Is Ploenchit, (approaching from Wittayu) open to vehicular traffic, and exiting on Langsuan?

Most immigration offices want the bank book to be updated on date you apply or as in your case a ATM slip will do.
Can you do the THB100 deposit before the Immigration officer meeting, rather than running off to an ATM in the middle of it. (I worry that the additional THB100 will not tally with the bank's letter of balance.)

Also, if anyone knows where the polling stations are in Bangkok, it might be useful to post them, (so that they can be avoided on Sunday).

Thanks. Is that Langsuan?

Could they perhaps apply it to the many cars parked outside the police station on Wireless, (that presumably belong to the police). This occurred after the latest recent crackdown on illegally parked cars. But perhaps of course it only applies to some and not others, like all laws in this country.

Who's going to buy Thai government bonds for this scheme in this environment? Better have a pretty hefty coupon on it.
-
Thanks guys, I had the Condo Act S.36, and Savills provided me with a JD.
-
-
Thanks. That's pretty clear, and much appreciated. (Your clarity, not the protest march!)

Anyone any information of Ploenchit today. Last night Suthep said he would lead a march from Asoke to Ploenchit/Langsuan intersection. Any confirmation that is taking place?

Protesters currently marching on inside lane of Sathorn Nua (north), going towards Rama IV.
Walked back from Ploenchit to Sathorn at around 4.45pm and noticed that gates of Lumpini are now open again. Yesterday's closure perhaps just the result of precautions ahead of the march from there this morning.

Except in Malaysia they have a monarchy. So his option is Prime Minister.

The closure of Lumpini is an annoying, worrying and irritating development, having enjoyed its quirky charms yesterday, as on many a Sunday midday. There was a strange atmosphere, I have to say, however.

A slap in the face: Thai politics
in Thailand News

So we've had the election. We wont get the result until the re-run in those polling stations that couldn't hold the poll. We do not yet know for sure when that will take place. During this period YL will continue to be the caretaker prime minister, with limited powers.
There is a possibility that the election will be declared null and void by the EC (or CC?). The CC will also rule on whether YL and several other cabinet members will be subject to impeachment proceedings for their part in the rice pledging scheme. The CC will also rule on whether the 300 or so MPs who voted in the House for the amendment of the constitution are in violation of the constitution. If one or all of these issues came to pass, what then?
Thailand needs to have some form of fully functioning government for fiscal purposes alone.
Have I missed something? How can this drag out for several months, without the economic circumstances becoming quite dire for the country? I'm excluding the withdrawal of international investment, (from countries such as Japan in the auto industry), and the slowdown in the hospitality industry from reduced tourist numbers, etc etc.
What are the likely scenarios? There is also the chance of serious civil unrest if farmers don't get paid, and the protests in Bangkok prevent people going about their normal business activities, and their normal lives.
