  1. The evidence of disruption was there.....You!!! Rose Hamid!!! ...YOU, purposely went to this rally, with that in mind, as you knew you wouldn't be welcome.

    Nice try....

So the Constitution now only applies to non-muslims that legally want to attend rallies and/or protest?

However, you can blame the media (and their owners with an agenda) for a lot of this, fanning the flames of discontent and fear against everything and everyone.

  2. This will be interesting..would be great if they got something on him and take away (some) of his wealth.

    Why??

Because he is more successful than you ?

Or perhaps simply to see some of those at the top here who are so obviously corrupt thieving murderous liars getting a little comeuppance for once ...

  3. It's an disgrace but par for the course here. How we got from this in the beginning to 2 x completely new suspects (conveniently) is insane:

    http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/one-tourist-murder-suspect-now-arrested-another-run

"The police have arrested a suspect in the murder of two British tourists in Koh Tao and are still hunting for a second suspect who has escaped into Bangkok.

Eighth Region Police Command commissioner Pol Lt-Gen Panya Mamen identified the first suspect as Mon.

He is the brother of a village headman in Koh Tao.

That was before Pol Lt-Gen Panya was transferred & changed by someone elsecrying.gif

Why was'nt Panya x examined during the case. Why does he remain silent.

Based on what I've seen here over the years, and more recently as seen in the human traficking case, I would suspect:

    1. the "promotion" came with conditions/inducements to keep quiet

    and/or

    2. speak and you or your family are silenced

  4. So how did we get from this (below) to where we are today?

  5. Due to the screwed up RTP investigation and all the miss information I for one am not sure if they are innocent or guilty. But if they are guilty and are given a Pardon just to quiet the crowds it would be another travesty of justice.

Protecting the guilty is what they are doing:

He was arrested after evidence which police collected were examined and proved he was involved, he said.

He also said another suspect is also a son of that village headman. But he has already to Bangkok.

He said both suspects were captured by CCTV cameras and the police have gathered enough evidence to implicate them in the murders."

  7. I personally don't think these 2 x are guilty, the scenario that fits better is the one we all heard of from day 1 until they switched the stories, but unfortunately (after the speedboat escape and lack of further investigation, DNA or otherwise) it shows that family are too well protected.

And to all the foreigners living here, however long you've been here, don't think that this couldn't happen to you, people get "framed" here on a daily basis for all manner of crimes, and money most definitely does talk in these cases.

    Back in September:

    http://thailandjustice.com/koh-tao-murders-trial-11th-sept-2015-reports-summary/

"The head of Thailand’s Central Institute of Forensic Science (CIFS) said the DNA of two males was found on the handle of a garden hoe but it doesn’t match that of the two Burmese defendants or the victims."

"* Thai police had no proper and adequate chain of custody documents for the court; no photos of any of the DNA analysis processes, no case notes, no written description of testing processes. Originally they just had charts of DNA profiles."

"*No DNA information was presented at all on the cigarette butts, just a piece of paper saying they matched."

"*The defence further highlighted the fact that the DNA sperm data was written, crossed out, and revised and dates and times were clearly wrong."

"“The documents have been edited. The dates are not right,” Dr Pornthip, who has decades of experience in forensic science, told the three sitting judges."

"During the hearing it was disclosed that Norfolk Coroner’s court had carried out its own autopsy on the body of Ms Witheridge, after it was returned to the UK, and there were significant differences noted between that report and the report compiled by the Thai pathologist."

"“You’ve have this pretty extraordinary situation going on in court today where the head of Thailand’s forensics institute is effectively contradicting the case of the Royal Thai Police, ” said Sky News Asia Correspondent Katie Stallard."

  8. Only in the 'land of smiles' does a felon, who has fled the country, still have legal rights. whistling.gif

Surprised the Junta didn't laugh Thaksin's request out of court. coffee1.gif

Not only in the land of smiles, criminals still have "rights", same as everyone else, in every "developed" country.

I agree however, that if someone is bringing a case against someone else in Court, they should actually BE in the Court.

  9. since i did also get it from a relative (Thai side) who owns a medium sized construction company and not just from the Media i do believe there is something to that ;-) .

But i was already a bit shocked to hear that for the last few years it was already 30% of the contract value ... if it would have been 30% of the expected net earnings of the contract that would have been a number i could accept for a 3. world country but 30% or now 50% of the contract value ? Thats crazy

I have also heard it said by a number of Thai associates that it went from around the 20% mark years ago, up to 30-40% under Thaksin, and now is in the 40-50% range.

It's good to see that foreign tv members are once again so well informed about the ins and outs of this government, which I assume is through their Hi-So Chinese wifes, but I'm surprised that the relevant Thai anti-graft agencies are unable to get the same information

I can't speak for anyone else, but there's no wife for me, hi-so, Chinese or otherwise.

It's not hard to be "informed" here when you run a business and have to deal with Thai Government organizations, military and/or and "private" businesses. Shady, thieving and underhanded is the norm.

  10. I know, in law, I'm supposed to carry my passport everywhere and I freely admit I don't. Just my Thai driving license.

This article appears to imply that everyone they checked had their passport with them - or am I mis-reading it?. If they did have them then they are pretty upright law abiding visitors.

    http://asiancorrespondent.com/2014/12/thailand-police-foreigners-not-required-to-carry-passports-at-all-times/

I guess things have changed in the last year since they stated publicly that you did NOT need to carry your passport, this was at the time of the massive increase in shakedowns was occurring on Sukhumvit and public outcry forced them to back down a little.

  11. didnt i hear in the last week that the required graft to get a government contract did go up this year from 30% to 50% of the contract value ?

Yes you did. Did you believe it on the evidence offered?
