The counter coup is starting slowly, but is at least starting.
And if he is tried in a Military Court, as soon as a civilian Govt is back in charge, the Supreme Court will overturn anything the Military have done (assuming they haven't already stacked the deck) as it's illegal and an infringement of their personal rights to try someone in Military court when they are a civilian.
Let's hope the UN observers continue to attend any planned protests, that should at least prevent another massacre.
That's one hell of an assumption!
They are busy stacking every deck they can think of before they are forced to stand to one side.
"trying" to stack the deck would be more appropriate, regardless however, as previous "coups" have shown, anything the previous "Govt" did can be thrown out, new laws written or changed, and a new constitution written, so whoever is next in charge can throw away anything done by the current "Govt".
It all depends on "how" a new Govt comes to power, and I'm doubting now it will be through "elections".

...army officers at the camp tried to convince the former Pheu Thai MP to cooperate with the military failing that he might be charged in the military court.
Charged with what I wonder. Is disagreeing and/or "failing to cooperate" with the government a crime now?
I think I'm right in saying that a couple of days ago it was announced he could face up to two years in prison for failing to comply with the agreement he signed when last released from AA.
An agreement signed when released from a period of unlawful detention !
When the next coup happens, all these current "laws" will be overturned and made illegal by the Supreme Court and the military will be held to account. They won't like that one little bit, they know it and it's starting to show.

The longer this farce continues, the deeper the hole they are digging for themselves and the quicker people will "react" in a non-approved manner.
When it all falls apart, and it will at some point, there is going to be a massive cleaning of the house within the "military".
-
How long is this farce going to roll along ?
Presumably Watana will do his period of AA, sign another paper and be released then he'll say something again and the merry-go-round has another spin.
Of course the junta might really stamp their feet and jail him for the laid down two years for breaking the terms of a worthless agreement he signed when being illegally detained. A nice story for the international media.
Buttons are being pressed and reactions are getting stronger, as per the small protest last night. I think PT are pushing the envelope more and more and hoping the Junta overreacts (which is not an unreasonable assumption), and then it'll be people on the streets and storming of the prison where they hold Watana (if he is indeed the "hero" rallying point). It's going to get worse before it gets better tho.

You can like or dislike (the charter) but don't express it (to the public) and keep it inside your head. Those wearing 'Vote No' or 'Vote Yes' T-shirts will have them taken off," Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan said.
I thought you be arrested and fined if not wearing a shirt!
Only during Songkran.
And only if you're not a Thai.

From Peray Stephane:
The new immigration form that ask you yours bank account number , your motorbike number plate , your favorite hangout places is actually the idea of Khun Chatchawan Wachirapaneekhun. He came up with this idea by himself specifically for one-stop service in Chamchuri square and this form is not asked in other immigration places like ChaengWattana . This form is not mandatory and you don't need to fill up everything , you fill up whatever you want . But again this form is the invention of one particular overzealous immigration officer - not the head of Thai immigration and definitely not the Thai Junta

Those numbers are simply insane.
Far too many idiots on the roads anyway, add in the alcohol and it's not "if", merely "when" and how many innocents get taken out along the way.
Crush the vehicles and lock the <deleted>ers up for 5 years.

Interfered with some bar owners at Nana ?
I hear business is slow there ...
Funny how the laws are selectively enforced !!!
Funny how bars in Nana Plaza aren't advertising sex for sale.
What's the menu and bar fine for then?

I hate seeing violence against women and would normally intervene, but this is Thailand, and I've lived here long enough to see what happens (and experienced it) when foreigners interfere in Thai "disputes".
Sometimes it comes off OK, sometimes you'll end up with 20 x irrational Thai's trying to kick the crap out of you at best, or at worst it'll be a knife in the back or a gun in the face.

My Google searches for "Sparta Knife" have thus far been inconclusive.
Hard to find, they only made 300.

I'll pass, 45 year old, overweight, desperate virgins are just too much hard work.
Unless she's very, very rich, in which case I'll make an exception.

Hello Officer, thank you for calling on me. Yes, I did send the text/picture. Why? Because she asked me for it. She was flirting with me because she wanted the commission on the property sale.
OK, thank you. Bye.

Be careful what you post regarding the investigation and negative comments. You might find yourself defending a libel, civil action with punitive damages and a criminal complaint. Negative comments about the Police are not recommended as well. If you don't think your content is not monitored you are mistaken. And foreigners wonder why their visa is denied? Furthermore, public records should not be published on the Internet! Very poor judgement. For this reason more and more public records are no longer public. What were you thinking? Or were you?
People can make their own choices about what to post or not post, and then face whatever consequences might come from it.
As for "public records" not being published on the internet, why not, they're public and accessible to anyone (supposedly). If you're talking about "private records" that's a whole different story.
The information posted here and in other places about this case is "public" knowledge and anyone can find it and access it.

Bout time a privately funded hit squad was arranged ......perhaps a gofundme site is needed
There was a movie years ago about 3 or 4 retired judges that reviewed cases of criminals that were obviously guilty but got off on technicalities. They then decided on a suitable punishment and hired someone to do it. I think Thailand needs something like this as the people responsible for enforcing the law and delivering justice are letting the Thai people down miserably. Can't remember the name of the movie.

If it was my children murdered by this moron, I'd have zero faith in "the law" here and would take matters into my own hands and see he got the punishment he deserves. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often here.
-
And anyone else would simple be rounded up forcefully and bundled down to the station to answer questions by now ... those without "money" or "power" that is.
Dual law system here as we all know.

Isn't "bingo" illegal as its gambling? Why weren't they charged for that like the "bridge" people?

How do they know he has no phone, money or passport?

Despite these "requests" to use less water, I'm expecting the usual nose to tail train of drunk morons on their skinny-wheeled bikes and no mufflers and trucks with their beds full of water tanks to continue their normal endless parade on the On Nut Road circuit from 6am to at least midnight for 6 or 7 days, i.e. same same as every year.

Those links to "influential" mafia are usually found higher up the ranks of the military, Police and Govt., so yet again the small fish will get eaten (well, a light slap on the wrist no doubt), whilst the big fish overseeing it all get away scotfree as normal.

I remember this guy from before.
Gotta admire his commitment.

So, is the CDC gonna roll over on this ... ? Or the boss replaced?

Reconciliation is off the table then and been given up on, now they're just filling all the positions with their own people, much like Thaksin tried to do previously and was called out on it.
No one learns anything, or changes, or compromises, or puts the good of the people/nation first, just themselves.
Same <deleted>, different day.
And you are suprised?
Seems the only people who thought it would be any different were the self proclaimed 'educated' PDRC supporters. It appears they were not as bright as they thought, not that that comes as any suprise either.
I presume most of the rank and file genuine PDRC people who believed the BS were actually duped into believeing their leaders wanted reform- when all along there was never any wish for reform, they have now gotten what they wanted. Power back into their good and greats hands to proceed with their good corruption, nepotism etc etc
Not surprised, just continually disappointed at the dogs breakfast they are continually repeating here.

Absolutely pathetic and tells you all you need to know about the "law" here and how "justice" works/will work.
