  1. What part of town are you located? Over here on the Darkside there's a few shops that make wooden furniture, I'm sure a simple cupboard repair job is within their scope.

Here's one and about 100 meters down the road a wood shop that can help put you in contact with a repair guy.

Sadly the Friendship shop close to Walking Street has closed down and been cleared out completely. I use Friendship a lot, enjoy the selection of goods, though I do agree that the staff, especially the cashiers are quite unfriendly.

Is/was there a 2nd Friendship shop? Cause the one on Pattaya Tai was open last night when I drove past and I called them just now (038-723-514) and asked their closing hours for today, they said 11 pm tonight.

I hope you guys will be posting some Taco Bell food reviews....I will be posting some in the next week or so.....

I ate there tonight with my son, he liked it but I thought it was overpriced and bland. Aprox 200 baht for a combo meal that wasn't all that filling. Lot's of other places to spend 200 baht on a delicious filling meal.

Plus it's a small place with a limited number of available tables and there were a number of farangs that clearly already finished their meal but still sat around taking up tables while checking their phones, or having a long drawn out conversation.

  4. There's a metal shop on Soi Nern Plab Wan that I've used to make/install a nice drive in gate, maybe show the boss the photo or actual structure to get a price quote.

The shop is closed Sundays and some days when they are away doing jobs, the boss's speaks some English but not a lot and he isn't there most days, so unless you speak a good deal of Thai you'll need a translator.

  5. I've had this licensed electrician do some work on my home a few years back, his English is good and he's not expensive, Not sure if he's still working but maybe give him a call; Mr Jaroon 081-862-5291.

Does anyone know by chance where there is still a small clinic in Pattaya where you can get a health certificate for the extension of your 5-year driver's license inexpensively and easily?
The small clinic near Soi Siam Country Road, where I was five years ago, unfortunately no longer exists and I don't want to go to a hospital because of it.

I got my medical certificate May of this year at a small clinic on Soi Nern Plab Wan, all paperwork and screening was done sitting outside, 150 baht, located on the left hand side while driving towards Pattaya City, a few hundred meters east of the train tracks.

Is the service back to normal yet as I need to renew my license? Please??

I renewed my licenses back in May of this year, and even though they were expired by 6 months I was still allowed to just take the color vision and depth perception test to get my licenses renewed.  No appointment needed or agency used. I showed up at 1 in the afternoon as was out the door in a little under 2 hours.

Just make sure you have all the proper paperwork (medical and residence certificates and copies of passport)

  8. Like others have said, 400 baht, over here in Nong Prue, the wife went to the local government office and they gave her a list of independent operators you can call and ask. Last time the old man told me to take a look at the meter before and after the pumping to get an idea of how much was pumped out.

  9. This would stop overnight if the western governments gave travelling Thai elites a dose of their own medicine but anyone with half a brain should realize by now that their governments don't represent their interests anymore.
Here in the USA, if a foreigner wants to go to a college/university, they pay waayyyy more than a US citizen, isn't that double pricing?
  10. Using poison will only make the rat die off in a hidden location, possibly stinking up your area. Glue or rat traps allows you to discard the rat in the garbage.

  11. Many of the larger hotels like Dusit Thani, have banquet rooms for special events such as yours and they have event planners to help with food, music etc, and have ample parking.
Or you can try larger restaurants, many are available for private parties, then work on finding a DJ or band.

  12. Go to the weekend market opposite Bangkok Pattaya hospital on Friday, they should be instock, usually selling Nippon grass and Bermuda grass, I bought some a few years ago, I think it was 20 baht per sod, they also sell soil and available to level your soil and install for a fee.
