  1. Rawai Nai Harn Dragon Boat club are having another quiz night this Thursday.

100 baht entry with free food and cheap booze (supplies permitting)

Quiz starts at 7.30pm, these nights are getting quite popular so get there handy to get a seat!

It is to be held at the Enigma Bar in Rawai (now called Juniors)

    All welcome.

  2. My we are all becoming sarcastic, pedantic so and so's aren't we.

Chill out, the sun is shining and evanson can get San Mig in the dangerous mom and pop stores so all is well with the world!

I live off Wichit Rd and couldn't care less how you spell it as long as my mail gets here.

  3. Yes, there has been reports of relief-bags going mainly to known Red Shirts in some districts.

But what is more reliably established, and reported in length by Thai PBS yesterday, is that migration-workers in several districts up-north have been completely overlooked/purposefully ignored. They had interviews with a big group of workers from Burma/Myanmar etc.

As the North of BKK has been flooded for a while now which happens to be mainly red? I would suppose that is why most of the aid is going there.

Not quite the same as BKK might get flooded but hey lets give the aid to them instead?

As for the ignoring of the migrant workers that is just wrong but what else do you expect.

We in the sunny south are trying to have collections of goods, water, medicices etc to do what we can, guess what we were told?

We would rather you sent cash!

    Amazing Thailand.

  4. I want Governor of Bangkok to fight this order, just so to do his job in protecting the city to his best effort. Suphan refused to be flooded, so can Bangkok!

    Not that easy SunDaRi,

Basically Bangkok is now surrounded by water, you can't just keep on holding it back and just make the sandbags etc higher and higher.

It will eventually flow to the sea no matter what.

The choices now seem to be, sacrifice parts of the city now or risk loosing the whole place.

Bit of a no win situation I am sorry to say.

  5. I forgot to add that even if you don't want to do the quiz or have a drink please drop off any old clothing, bedding etc if you can spare it.

just use it as a collection point, it will go to the right people.

Anytime after 6.30pm on the 26th at Enigma

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Mods I hope you will allow me to post this in the main section and not events, thanks.

Rawai Nai Harn Dragon Boat Club is having their usual quiz Night on the 26th October at the Enigma Bar in Rawai.

We have decided that any profit from the night will be used to purchase bedding, clothing etc to try to do a bit for the poor souls who have been flooded up North.

Could anyone who would like to attend bring any old clothing, bedding, bottled water, anything useful really that you longer need or wish to donate. Raffle prizes are also good.

The club will be joining up with the GOM's and Lady Pie and all goods will be transported up by them in convoy.

The quiz itself will be easy and it is a fun night so could we appeal for as many people as possible come along even if quizzes and dragon boating is not your thing. It is in a good cause.

Quiz starts at 7.30pm, please bring what you can, you are sure of a warm welcome.

Food will be laid on and the beer and vodka, gin etc is at the special price of 50 baht, so you can get merry cheaply in the warm glow of doing something nice at the same time!

Pm me if you want more details.

    :jap:

  7. Of course such an action would totally negate all the efforts of the Democrat controlled B.M.A. thus putting the Democrats in a bad light.

My money is on the fact that it is a politically motivated move aimed at discrediting Bangkoks Democrats.

Yingluck and the current administration are like cornered animals and will indeed take anyone and any thing they could down with them.

All the hallmarks of Yinglucks Big Brothers tactics all over again.

A third of the Country underwater, one of the world's busiest cities under direct threat and all you can see is Thaskin?

    Jeez

  8. Rawai Nai harn Dragon boat club are having another of their popular quiz nights on Wednesday 28/10/2011, start time 7pm.

The Enigma Bar in Rawai is the venue again.

This is a quiz for fun so the questions won't be for mensa candidates.

Food is supplied ( Lisa's famous sausage rolls as well yum, yum)

Local beers, G+T, vodka etc all 50 baht.

Prizes for the winners and the less intellectually endowed (like me)so all can win!

  9. According to records September and October are the two wettest months with it dropping off during November.

Don't know what your beef is with TAT but annual rainfall is all recorded on other websites besides TAT.
