  1. Yeah, you made a small blunder, by accepting the local bank’s rate instead of Schwab’s MasterCard/VISA rate. It’s called ‘Dynamic Currency Conversion’. Look it up. Avoid the yellow bank with your particular card. The others should be fine… but watch out. If asked, use another bank.
  2. No, he didn’t. That’s just your assumption. He confessed to having sexual contact with her and said that he went there for sex. Remember these things are translated from Thai language. You’ll see horrible mistakes in the transcript if you take a look. That’s normal.
  3. Sex tourists think that is the only reason to be in Thailand. They blink in disbelief if you tell them there are other reasons.
  4. What temptation? That sex is available at a low price? Not everyone is a sex tourist nor even remotely tempted by cheap and nasty sex tourism. Normal people in good relationships don’t have the issues that live in your mind.
  5. Doesn’t ‘beg the question’ at all.
  6. Sex tourists only see… sex tourism. Birds of a feather and all that.
  7. The full story about the sad looking sex tourists or that there is life here other than sex tourism? Believe me, there is.
  8. No. I asked questions. Can you not see them? Do you have answers to them? No, you don’t and neither does anyone else here.
  9. How do you know the man is in the wrong? How do you know that she told him no? Telling someone that you have to get up for work in the morning is not a “no!” I just see people jumping on a bandwagon, rather than actually caring about, you know…reality.
  10. Off-topic nonsense. It’s a Chinese male in this instance. No one is speaking up because he is male or even because he is Chinese…. but because the story stinks 😷
  11. Do you have some evidence that a rape took place? Perhaps you can talk us through what you know. Or is it just that you have decided to assume the worst?
  12. Do you imagine it was her first time? Looks like a working girl to me.
  13. Maybe you should read more and learn more, rather than making yourself sick before the lesson endeth… The is most certainly more to the story than your sick imagination.
  14. Who says she was ‘Western’?
  15. How about you don’t jump on the; misrepresenting the term ‘woke’ bandwagon?
  16. Clearly? Explain the details that you have at hand that makes it clear, to us all.
  17. The picture in the Khaosod/Thaiger article is split between a picture of him and what looks like a woman on a motorcycle. Is that the American woman?
  18. Erm… that could mean that he admitted to having tried to have sex with her. The rest is just your closed mind trying to oversimplify.
  19. It’s also criminal when accused unjustly. He isn’t denying what happened. But perhaps his story and perspective is completely different from hers. How about his side of things? I think the whole App thing is a bit creepy anyway.
  20. Doesn’t make the dog nor he a criminal. If he did it to a stranger, that isn’t acceptable. But to a girl whom you meet via an App, meet at a bar and then head back to her place. I think most men would think that was a yes. Do you believe that she told him before they left the bar that she said “no sex because I’m working tomorrow”. Does that sound plausible to you? Even if she did say that whilst they were in bed together but he tried it on anyway… Does that make him a criminal? That’s my point. Stop acting as if people are robots. They argue. They shout. They cannot always have a meeting of the minds. The question is did his behaviour go beyond what one might consider an ‘acceptable’ level.
  21. But you have no idea that he forced her to do something against her will, do you? Was there a physical altercation? Does she have bruises? What does she allege happened? We don’t know any of that. I just see some people needing to get excited just by reading something. Doesn’t even need to be real.
  22. Deserves what, silly? This is the point you are skipping over. We have no idea what actions have taken place that are being described as sexual assault. I’m stating there are more possibilities other than just imagining the worst. Doesn’t mean that I think he’s a good guy. I’m suggesting that the ‘hang him high’, ‘women can do no wrong’ crowd should ‘cool their heels’ until there are some actual details of the alleged assault.
  23. Makes me smile to see how you both write 😊 Happy you found someone on your wavelength.
  24. You’ve got it wrong. No one is attacking you. Look at it this way…. Everyone is busy with their lives in one way or another and we often feel that we don’t have time for everything. So our time is seen as precious. They came to your post because the cared enough to read it. But some, including myself initially, weren’t ‘tuned in’ to your meaning, the feeling behind your post. They read the words but could not put them together in a way that made sense to them. So they asked you more questions or suggested ways by which you could communicate in a different way, so they might understand. If they are taking their time; their precious time, to reply to you in order to ask more…. it means they are interested in what you are saying, but they are having problems with the interpretation. The people who weren’t interested either didn’t read or just left the thread soon afterwards. Learn to communicate more nicely with the people who stayed 🤗
  25. Yes, it could man that “she” alleges rape, but so far the evidence stretches to sexual assault. Note they don’t state alleged sexual assault. Likely because he admits to going there to have sex.
