  1. Is there a time limit to apply for unemployment benefits? I just found out she did not apply for the 3 months she wasn't working which was over 6 months ago. I think it is 30 days, right?
  2. Surely next year when you are required to file your tax return, a Farang mug will be eligible for such perks?
  3. If you marry a Japanese you are treated much better. You can get a PR
  4. My wife who worked for a Japanese company for over a decade was surprised that my Japanese is better than Thai. I learned a lot from watching Pr0n and now we sometimes watch it together as she also finds it a useful linguistic tool. Her favorite actress is Julia.
  5. Some pensioners want to retire in peace, not battling syphilis and gonorrhea.
  6. I would have recorded, complained, paid and then posted it on social media. The tourist police would have contacted you for evidence, dragged you to the establishment where the owner would have been obliged to comp the meal and issue the obligatory wai as everything was just a big misunderstanding. What a missed opportunity.
  7. Mall Shooting Could Lead to Increased Gun Control for aliens
  8. Not even a day and already gloating
  9. On international transfers. Why not? Do you also lol when you pay 200 baht using a foreign ATM card?
  10. Why so angry? I am giving my opinion on what the outcome of this taxation may look like. I may be entirely wrong, but withholding tax on transfers looks like something entirely plausible. Did you sell everything back home to live the dream? Well, that was a mistake.
  11. Like I said, if they implement the withholding tax, this absolutely won't matter. It will be up to you to prove the money was already taxed back home.
  12. I think it is a great business model. Transfer money, get taxed 15% on the gross amount and get 2% interest (if you are lucky).
  13. It is not my logic, this is what I see when reading the childishly written original post. Of course it is not an income, but a Thai bank may see it as an income and it will be taxed accordingly. It will be up to you then to claim back the withholding tax and go through all the BS to get your money back.
  14. This is actually very clear. I don't know why so many seem confused. If you make a wise transfer to Thailand, transfer money to purchase a condo, transfer your pension or transfer money to your bargirl du jour it will be taxed at 15% - just like the interest you earn on your Thai savings. It will be then up to you to claim a refund. This will, of course be an automatic withholding tax. Best to use your foreign ATM card. Best to not own any property in Thailand. Best to not have any business whatsoever in Thailand. Best to always keep the low profile.
  15. Not my type, as my 43 year old super white Chinese wife is much hotter than her. I'm kidding.
  16. You make a fair point, but also miss an important one. Isaan girls could be making 100,000 baht a month working 7/11, but the Thai currency will most likely be worth the same as 1 Korean won. Farang sex tourist wins even more.
  17. And ideally I want Pattaya to be a sleepy little fishing village
