  1. The boredom of this sobriety is really starting to get to me. im tempted to have a big blow out/bender till next Monday. im talking 100,000 baht, girls, booze, hotel rooms, paradise islands, swimming pools, new wardrobe, music , bright lights, good food the lot. the divorce papers will be waiting for me on the dining table as soon as I get back home I’m sure.
  2. The loudest one in the room is usually the one with the most dirt under his fingernails. The fact that big joke claims to be this whiter than white knight in shining armor is a huge red flag. He should have stayed out of the spotlight and worked in the shadows if he truly wanted to fight crime in a meaningful, productive way. His big mouth and public persona may now be coming back to bite him hard on the behind..
  3. these were my initial thoughts when the story first broke. It remains my gut feeling but as nothing has either been confirmed or denied at this point then we will have to wait and see. Personally, I don't even think this plan will get off the ground, let alone make a maiden flight. Let's just speculate about the logistics of such an event occurring for a second. If their plan is to tax foreigners on their savings accrued outside of Thailand, then there will be a mass exodus of farangs at every income level, rich, poor, comfortable etc. This will leave a gaping hole in the economy and have huge implications for the new government trying to make a good first impression. It would be an incredibly bitter pill for most foreigners to swallow, myself included, and it just would not make any sense to remain here. There are too many options worldwide that don't tax people on their savings, and any future prospective Thai expats will certainly think twice about coming here. If Thailand want's to shoot for the short term gains as they usually do then be my guest, but don't start crying in your noodles when the full impact of your decisions become crystal clear a little further down the line...
  4. I think this guy should just put up and shut up, for his own good!
  5. I'm seriously thinking about going back to Multiple Entry. I want an excuse to get out of here every 90 days.. Mrs smith is against the idea though. She likes everything easy easy. But my new attitude is if immigration give me even the slightest bit of the run around (need this paper, you forgot this document etc) then I go to an embassy out of country. I don't have to play their silly little games anymore. And I miss Laos. Especially their beer.
  6. why should the EU grant visa free travel to Thais? What do Thai people bring to the table?
  7. It won't happen. Even if it does then good. I'm sick of this place anyway.
  8. I agree mate.
  9. They tell you handsome man 2,000 short time want me go your room? ????
  10. Looks like a big waste of taxpayers money to me.
  11. And here was me thinking you were still a virgin, but no, it’s Don Juan himself!! just goes to show you should never judge a book by it’s cover ????
  12. But there are differing levels of corruption though, aren’t there? Just check out the corruptions perception index and see where Thailand currently sits.. it leaves a lot to be desired.
  13. That's a pretty big problem if you ask me! do you enjoy the flooding, the corruption, the bureaucracy, the traffic et al?
  14. how many watches as he got?
  15. Is the full commando gear really necessary for a so called gambling raid?
  16. good question. more than likely into the back pocket of some corrupt official. thanks, but no thanks.
  17. I don't smoke the stuff, just hypothesizing about what's in store for your average chonger next year..
  18. if people want to smoke they will smoke, regardless of the legality of the plant itself. back to buying from tuk-tuk drivers and doing it behind closed doors in 2024 then... It will probably be a lot cheaper that way.
  19. We matter whilst we are here to our family and to our loved ones. however, once brain death has been established it’s as though we never even existed, at least to us. as we have no way of communicating with the only people who remember us (our kids) then did it all really happen?
