Your best protection against ransomware is 1) an independent, external backup clone of your system and data disks, 2) backups of your work every week with rotation of several external disks, 3) not clicking on links in email, opening files from others without scanning with malware and antivirus programs, 4) not visiting websites that offer “free”, pirated software, “adult” sires, etc. #1 & 2 will save you if you make a mistake on 3& 4.
