Dutch father and son die in truck crash in Nakhon Ratchasima
roietfortress replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
they don't have degrees of murder in your country or you only talk to buffalo and Louie now? the grandpas in here need to get some coffee. # -
just curious if Adam Judd, who lives and works in Pattaya, writes negative articles about all of the much worse things going on in his own city? excessive alcohol consumption, prostitution, bribery, blackmail, theft, murder, and of course meth in the backroom of every bar. cannabis is harmless. prohibitionists are drunk clowns. #

Dutch father and son die in truck crash in Nakhon Ratchasima

that's murder. happens every day in LoS, but farang should act better. # -
when did the cash limit double? i thought you had to claim $10k USD or over in cash. flying out of country to use an ATM is extreme. cash withdrawals aren't income. the income is already in. that would be double taxation. they don't charge Thais for ATM winthdrawals. the big problem is if you use the income method for your long term visa. i think we'll just park the money in there and not move it. then we're only liable for interest, which would be too low to tax. unless you have 10m baht+ in a Thai bank. that would just be crazy. this whole thing stinks of someone who's butthurt about farangs. #

Cannabis Network Gives Health Minister A Warning
roietfortress replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
yea i think the cat is out of the bag lol cannabis may have come from Asia, but the West mastered it. the main problem i've seen here is a straight up refusal to look for knowledge outside the border. they could have easily put a tax system in place like Colorado and made billions in taxes already. high tax revenue makes legalization a no brainer. # -
Cabinet cuts electricity and diesel prices
roietfortress replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Lou you have 2 choices - accept that rates did increase earlier in the year, or don't. i care the same amount either way. continuously attacking me is futile because i just dont care. i hope your day gets better. it seems to start off bad every day XD # -
Cabinet cuts electricity and diesel prices

the article may have been old. that was my oversight. i was in the middle of more important things than replying to boomer trolls. however i do have first-hand experience showing our electricity rates dramatically increased while our usage dropped. my wife has business owner friends who paid 7-9k for electric in May 2021 and 2022, then paid 15-20k in May 2023 on the same kw usage. our family monk reported that their bill, which was always in the 1500-2000 range jumped up over 5k. maybe they are lying too? i don't care about much in my easy Thailand life, but the electric bill is one thing i have to review every month. my article reference was out of date, but they wouldn't be "easing" rates if they weren't raised in the first place. basic logic. angry and upset replies are not necessary and they just make me laugh. # -
i didn't believe it at first, but then i realized they aren't talking about farangs opening businesses. its incredibly easy for any Thai to find something to sell and set up a market table. even if they go the storefront approach, outside of large cities licensing is one stop and a payment. supplies can come straight from China within a week. labor is cheap. try opening a business in the US. they shouldn't be on that list at all. #

roietfortress replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
do you even live in Thailand? do you use PEA? go grouch on someone else. every person in the country with an actual house or business complained about it. our bill was 3x for 4 months so far. # -

they tripled the electricity rate in May. that doesn't look like much of a reduction. one of the few domestic subjects i care about lol # -

Thai PM says he opposes the recreational use of cannabis
roietfortress replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
from what i'm hearing, this part is upsetting a lot of Thais on many subjects. quiet during elections, then proposing new policies after getting the seat. most Thais couldn't care less about cannabis. its not seen or used in daily life. most Thais don't live in cities and they are more worried about eating. i can survey my entire village and zero people will say they're concerned about cannabis use. many will probably ask to try it. my MIL enjoys it now in her soups. #
