Immigration British National Among Arrested in Koh Phangan Crackdown
Ubonian Canadian replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Took the words right out of my yip. She will be shell shocked once she arrives back. Unfortunately it appears she doesn't have the brains for a realistic survival plan so it will be tough on her back in unjolly ole England. -
Report Thai Roads: Quiet Amidst Chaos, The Culture of Low Horn Use
Ubonian Canadian replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The Thai's love their whistles. The Airports are the same, I watched the guys while I having a smoke. Blowing their whistles so constantly & unnecessarily. They seem to think they have the power of a tiger. Not only excessive noise but it also echo's throughout the passage way. Hand signals can work 95% of the time. Save the whistle for uncaring drivers & parkers. Very annoying. -

This may help to explain the excessive use of horns in Vietnam. It was great to get the baguette there but they could of, should of, left the horns in France. -
Report Thai Roads: Quiet Amidst Chaos, The Culture of Low Horn Use
Ubonian Canadian replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Before visiting Thailand for the first time I went to Vietnam for 6 months. I couldn't believe the noise of the horns. Seemed everyone was beeping everywhere. Even on straight streets with no obstacles. It was annoying sitting in a cafe having morning coffee and reading a book with all the horns going off. I rented a motorbike one day and took it back 2 hours later as it was mayhem on the roads. With all the beeping going on you didn't know what the hell you were supposed to be avoiding and from where. Talk about unnecessary noise, sheesh. Maybe that was how they kept the crime rate down. I never saw an issue the whole time I was there, and I did a lot of walking. -
UN Warns of Escalating Climate Crisis with No Relief in Sight
Ubonian Canadian replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Agreed. The thing I was trying to get across was as the pole shifts the magnetic field protecting us gets out of balance thus letting in more sun rays which I believe shifts things. It gets unbalanced. Thus I think it will effect the weather in ways I don't understand. There seems to be a lot of science guys that can't seem to be able to nail it down. I just don't think that 100 years of industrial progress can screw us up the amount they are trying to sell us. As mentioned, hard to trust these numbskulls in power. Just look at how many predictions have not fruited over the years. The magnetosphere is going a bit bananas at the current time and we are seeing an increase of wild weather patterns at the moment. Something is happening, but I doubt it is what they are trying to sell. When I do research on this subject I get all kinds of theories but it seems even the so called experts can't agree. Anyway, it seems we have just about reached a 1.5C increase in temperature, aurora's are being seen further south all the time and i just feel that there is a connection here somewhere. Any retired scientists out there? -
UN Warns of Escalating Climate Crisis with No Relief in Sight
Ubonian Canadian replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The experts never seem to mention the axis going off kilter with the poles wandering off. It seems to me that this constant moving of the north pole will effect the jet streams and the angle to the sun. One would think that this would affect the weather patterns that we have been used to. It appears we are slowly heading toward a pole shift which will once again change the world dramatically. There's no stopping this reality. The cleanse is coming. Unfortunately it is becoming increasingly more difficult to trust the so called experts. The most recent survey determined that the Pole is moving approximately north-northwest at 55km per year. NASA claims that pole shifts don't have much effect on weather. Seems an odd statement considering Antarctica used to be fertile ground. They also state the last pole shift was 700,000 years ago but also that the average pole shifts occur every 300,000 years. It may be true that NASA stands for Never A Straight Answer. One fact everyone seems to agree upon is that the shift was about 10km per year until recently. https://media.cnn.com/api/v1/loops/stellar/prod/20250113-geomagnetic-01-loop.mp4?c=original Just thinking out loud. -
I got the strap on the hands in middle school 2 times by the vice-principle. 1968 & 69. 1st time was for bumper sliding in the snow hanging onto the buses back bumper. 2nd time was for going on a girls school trip to the hospital to see what nurses did. I refused this time as I thought it unfair as men could be nurses too. My Mom was a nurse at this hospital. The school phoned my Dad, who was Secretary/Treasurer of the school board, to report my refusal. The next morning my Dad took me to school to receive my punishment. I was originally from Britain, Dad was a flight lieutenant on the Lancaster bomber before we moved to Canada in '59 when I was 4. I would get the belt on a fairly regular basis and once had a yardstick broken over my butt when I was 10. I left home at 15. I'm not saying corporal punishment is wrong but it certainly needs to be for a damn good reason. I had a lady teacher in grade 6 & 7, Mrs. McKenzie, she would walk around the class with a thick 18" wooden ruler and rap your knuckles if they were idle. I also had a pervert teacher, Mr. Britton, in grade 7, who also was a cub leader. I squealed on him to my Dad. It took 2 years for them to fire him. He was always touching the girls in my class and one of them was a crush of mine. I wasn't in his cub pack so I don't know if he had a thing for boys too or not. My Dad was also a Scout leader, I was in his pack. Dad is now 96 and just moved into an old folks home, leaving my 92 year old Mom by herself in their trailer. She's almost blind and needs a stroller to walk. Somehow she doesn't qualify for the home as well. Dad is getting senile, forgetful and can't hear. A few years after leaving home I made up with my Dad and we were good from that day forward. I feel for that little girl, who is much too young to be abused like that. I trust the authorities won't take 2 years to get rid of that abusing teacher. How can you possibly be that pissed at such a youngster and not be right in the head. He needs a lot of alone time in a cell to think about what he has done. Then released into the general population for his justice.

They seem to be mainly going after the gang folk... Tren de Aragua and their affiliates. Apparently Venezuela is not allowing them back so they're getting shipped off to El Salvador. They have their own wing there, separated from the MS13 boys. I think the US would be wise to open up their own El Salvador styled jail and start taking care of their own gang problem. Sending a strong message to the younger kids on their way up that the gang life is a dead end. Force the incarcerated into school and trades in order to get out. Also, for the stupid ones, make chain gangs for picking fruit & veggies etc. Get them used to the work ethic.

Instead of just posting they should of been named & shamed and booted off the Island. I had this happen once in my bar a few years ago. He was instantly barred and I spread his name to other bar owners. I had thought of calling the cops but he gave the money back. I saw him around the next year and he couldn't look at me. Sometimes I question my lack of action. But when I got him by the throat I guess that seemed like enough at the time.

China is quite broke at the moment, not a lot of spare change around. Why waste the money on a dead dog? Me thinks maybe there is an alternative method for this madness. Perhaps the trough is drying up? I know certain things don't make sense a lot of the time here but this initiative is a cake that is hard to swallow.
