  1. Where is the shop located, and is the 250b cruiser available?

The shop is on Sukhumvit. From Chalom thai in direction of BKK it is around 100 meters on the left side.

    The contact is:

    Motorcycle Co., Ltd. 038-285-333 038-285-711

    The official list i there:

The owner ABSOLUTELY doesn t speak english, you have to go with a thai friend (better if he knows a little about big motos for tecnical questions)

I think you could ask for the 250B cruiser, he could surely provide you one.

But actually you can not turn on the motor and test the moto before buy it. He said because after, it is not more "new" motorcycle but second hand..!!??. He has no moto for test, so you have to trust the quality of the brand and the warranty offered.

For the first turn on, officials mechanicals from Lifan company came and did the settings, verified everything, register the warranty.

All the technical documentation and the maintenance book are in thai.. :S I have to ask Lifan if they can send me by mail, a correct english version.

You have to pay cash too, they have no credit card machine.

hey anna, good to see you on here, hope you didnt mind me starting a topic about your bike. hows it all going? i went for a drive to khao kheow area the other day, the roads leading towards the park look great for a ride, once at the park cant take the bike in though. better stay on topic, hope the bike is going well, ignore or the negative people on here, ur bike looks and seems awesome and a bargain and at the end of the day who cares as long as you like it, id definately get one now if had the spare cash!

  2. im trying to find a beach hut/bungalow style place for rent, just for a few nights over new year somewhere around sattahip to ban chang areas, something right on the beach. just something basic that could sleep up to 5 people where we could just hang out, drink and have a bbq and swim etc, doesnt have to be much around, the quieter the better really.

if anyone knows of such a place id really appreciate it.

    cheers

  3. False economy you will find. Your friend would have been better buying a second hand Phantom or Nouvo rather than this Chinese liability. He will find that parts that he is going to be needing often will be hard to get and your average somchai mechanic will have no idea of how to repair and will just bodge it as best he can.

My friend bought a Chinese scrambler type bike and it spent more time in the dealers waiting for the replacement parts that either failed or simply dropped off like the front brake calliper.

    :sorry:

yeah fair enough, im sure alot of people would be under the same impression, im also sceptical myself, i guess only time wil tell how reliable it is. in all due respect your friend didnt buy this bike so i guess cant really compare.

  4. a friend of mine just bought a brand new Lifan GY200 A5, from the dealer here in chonburi city for 45 000 baht with 2 year warranty, green book etc, fully legal. The guy/shop has just started selling them to test the market here so not sure how long he would keep that price. Apperently its a chinese copy of a honda model (not sure which one) and they didnt get good reviews and had some problems with initial models a few years ago but seem to be alot better now. Im no expert but from what i saw it looked great. i took it for a small ride and seemed to ride very nice also. Someone looking for a fully legal road/trail type bike at a very reasonable price i think would find this bike hard to beat. i payed over 50k for a nouvo and i know had this bike been available then i definately would have got it instead. I believe the factory is located here which would explain the cheap selling price and would make servicing and warrant issues alot easier.

my friend told me that there is now a copy of this model going around now also so i guess it must be half decent if some1 is copying a copy, nway if u do happen to get one from somewhere i would contact lifan directly with all the numbers and make sure its one of their bikes.

has any1 else come across this bike yet or bought one from somewhere, any experiences?

will provide shop details to any1 interested.

  5. You may not be able to do anything about the players and the bars.

If you have explored the menu options for the picture size 4:3, wide etc,

you just have to live with it.

yeah fair enough astral. so if i was looking at buying a new dvd player, cheap one, how do you know what size bars it will show at top and bottom? im still curious about the audio though, is it just the fact that its a copied dvd and maybe the good dvd player doesnt recognise it so well or something?

  6. I think there is a setting on the good player when i played around with it the other day, it just seems to play with the small bands at top and bottom which is fine. cant seemed to change anything on the cheaper dvd player which has the wider bands at top and bottom.

That sounds reasonable. The more expensive player is likely to have more options.

As for the audio when i use the cheaper player i plug my good component cable from tv to player and use aux sound on the surround sound and normally play in dolby 5.1. When i use the good player i still use dolby 5.1 but just use the HD cable and the big one that joins my player to sub (dont know what its called) but the sounds isnt as loud or clear as with the cheaper dvd setup. any idea why? whats the external decoder?

Many players include the decoder, with 6 output leads, Front L&R, Centre, Rear L&R, Sub.

Otherwise you can use the optical or digital output and feed to a separate decoder box to get the 6 channels

if i use the hdmi cable do i need one in the in and out socket of the player or just the out?

Only one hdmi should be necessary from the player, to the TV

ok, thanks. still confused and have no idea how to resolve it though, haha.

  7. Are there any menu setting on the players that tell it how to handle the disks?

Films made for the cinema are in 21:9 format (if I remember rightly) and will

show with a small band top and bottom on a 16:9 screen.

If the player thinks the screen is 4:3 then you will get the larger black bands.

It may just be a matter of settings.

The same goes for the Audio. The cheap player may have a surround processor builtin,

the more expensive machine may require an external decoder?

hey astral, thanks for the reply. i think there is a setting on the good player when i played around with it the other day, it just seems to play with the small bands at top and bottom which is fine. cant seemed to change anything on the cheaper dvd player which has the wider bands at top and bottom.

thanks for your help mate, im the best at this stuff.

  8. FWIW, some DVD players (e.g. Philips DVP3360K) have a USB input and do support the playback of AVI and SRT files; I use this model with both a USB stick and AVI/SRT files burned as data onto DVD-Rs, the USB only supports FAT32. Also some newer TVs have USB (e.g. Samsung LA32C530F1R) also support playback of AVI and SRT (and a whole slew of other formats)files; I use this model, it supports NTFS.

This saves having to re-encode true DVDs, which takes ~ 25 minutes on my i7/860 PC.

so are you saying playing the movie USB makes it easier to view on the better dvd players?

  9. can anyone tell me why when i watch a burnt dvd on my good dvd player it plays the movie in widescreen with only a small amount of black strip at the top and bottom which i like but sometimes this good player will have problems playing cheap or copied dvds, but when i play it in my cheap dvd player it plays fine but has alot more black strip and the top and bottom. I always thought it was either the movie itself that is widescreen, why would it show different depending on the dvd player. Also why would the audio be better from the cheaper player?

    thanks

  15. ive tried calling them too, cant get through, guess people like me who dont listen to that promo stuff are all calling to ask where the world cup is and why the HD channel isnt working, now i know after reading this topic. just wondering how much it costs if already a gold member?

    cheers

Ad far as I am aware for current subscribers on a gold package will get the HD box for 2000 Baht. New subscribers 4000 Baht. 1 month free for the world cup then 290 baht a month thereafter. There is a 3 day waiting list for the hardware in Pattaya, as per Truevision engineer that called today.

    Cheers, Rick

    cheers mate.
